I just watched the movie version of Choke...how's the book? The movie was really good.
I just started Professional Idiot: A Memoir by Steve-O from Jackass...I love the guy.
There's a movie version of Choke?!? The book was great, plenty of raunchy sex stories, humor, a couple of gross out parts, all around savory
the movie was alright.
reading world war z again.

I'm rereading Under The Dome by Stephen King since the show premiered tonight and I'm comparing.
I'm going to dive into this as soon as I finish the book I'm in the middle of.

Well over 2/3 the way thru it and absolutely love it. I think it will fill the void left by the ending of the Wheel of Time. Book two comes out this Fall.
Finally finished it tonight and like I said, absolutely loved it. Didn't wanna put it down over the last week. Fantastic character development. It's over 1500 pages on my iPad and I checked the hardcover is 1007. Can't wait for book two I think November. Gonna read a couple Stephen King novels now starting with Under the Dome.

I am half way through Under the Dome and I absolutely love it so far. It's definitely better and different from the television show though.

A Song of Ice and Fire: Dance with Dragons (Second reading)

I finished Peter Hamilton's Void trilogy. Decent ending to a great sci-fi space opera epic. And I do mean epic; he got in to brief bouts of quantum mechanics and even metaphysics towards the end--this is on top of the interesting & complex technologies he came up with and the huge cast of characters. Definite recommend for fans of the Mass Effect games and dense stories that still manage to move incredibly quick.
I also read City of Bones which is the first book of the Mortal Instruments series that is apparently going to be a movie next month. It started out quite shitty with a distinct Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibe but it became surprisingly decent towards the end. Imagine a sort of cross between the pacing of Hunger Games and the concept of Hellboy & Constantine and then throw in some Twilight (the books, not the movies) elements and I'm sure this is going to be a big thing with the young folks.

I'm doing a second reading of Song of Ice and Fire as well, but I started with the 2nd book Clash of Kings this time. Even though I read the first 3 only a few years back, I had already forgotten how much I love GRRM's writing style. His stories move and his characters are incredible yet he still has just enough touches of authentic-feeling detail for it to feel truly classic and epic. When people call him a "modern Tolkien" it's not just reckless hyperbole.

I agree. I still haven't bought the 5th book yet because I've been trying to pace myself since who knows when the next book will be out, but every time I start reading anything he has written, I get so sucked in.
Reading grrm makes me lose hope at being a successful novelist, because I don't know if I'd be able to touch people like he does. :/

Let me say that it starts slow but by the third book it gets good and by the fourth book it gets great. If you're invested at that point, you'll thoroughly enjoy them.
If, however, the first or second book put you off of the series, I wouldn't blame you. After having read the last one, I went and skimmed through the first book and literally laughed at how different it was.

They do take a notably darker turn after Prisoner of Azkaban. It's even more noticeable in the films.

Finished Under the Dome today. I really enjoyed it and it pisses me off that much more now when I see what CBS turned the show into. What a fucking hack job.

Divergent by Veronica Roth. Just actually got it started but my senior English teacher recommended it to me. She loved it and we have the same taste in books so I went out and bought it. She never steers me wrong on books. She constantly messages me on facebook with new books I should read since I graduated. She's the shit. XP
