Finished the Hunger Games and started Catching Fire tonight. I like it. It's easy reading just like Harry Potter. You fly right thru and don't want to put it down. I pushed the movie up to the top of my netflix queue. Been waiting to watch it till after I got around to reading the novel first.
Finished Catching Fire today and moving right on to Mockingjay to conclude the trilogy.

It's a surprisingly good trilogy. I read them recently and couldn't put them down.
I'm reading Fortunes of War by Patrick O'Brian, part of the master and commander book series. O'Brian uses historic battles with fictitious characters to add realism. It's a great series.

And done. Took me just under three weeks to fly thru all 3 novels. Really enjoyed the series and look forward to the remaining movies. I thought the first one did a helluva job following the book. I guess Catching Fire comes out this November and they split Mockingjay into two films coming out in '14 and '15 respectively. I just hope they finish filming all the scenes with Donald Sutherland first. Would hate to see them to have to Dumbledore us should he pass away before they're done. *knocks on wood* He is 77 years old after all.
Now that I'm done with that series I'm moving on and starting The Alloy of Law - a newer novel from Brandon Sanderson where he revisits the Mistborn universe but it takes place about 300 years after the conclusion of the original trilogy.

I'm starting on the As the World Dies series by Rhiannon Frater. It's a series that takes place during a zombie outbreak. I stumbled on the series while searching Google for zombie apocalypse books. Thought I'd give it a go. Going to start off with First Days.

One of my favorite books ever, and from the same author, Foucault's Pendulum.

Holy crap, Foucault's Pendulum is my favourite book of all time. OF ALL TIME. Now I have to track down a copy of Name of the Rose.
Snap, you'll enjoy Game of Thrones. It is big and thick (giggity) but moves fast and has great characters.

I just got the box set (books 1-4) off Amazon for like 20 bucks. I really like the show. I hope I like the books too.

That was a quick read but I enjoyed it thoroughly. If you liked the Mistborn Trilogy then you'll dig this. Now I'm moving on to the first volume in Brandon Sanderson's own epic saga, The Stormlight Archive. I guess he plans on making it a total of ten books.

So I am about 250 pages into Game of Thrones and I love it! Its amazing that even though I'm all the way caught up on the show, the books are still so interesting that I just burn through page after page and not get bored.... even though I know whats happening.
