I enjoyed Drew Karpyshyn's Darth Bane series and the Mass Effect adaptations he wrote. His Old Republic novels were solid, too. This feels a lot like The Warded Man (another popular fantasy series). I'm around 2/3 of the way done with it, and so far it's pretty solid.

Finished Under the Dome today. I really enjoyed it and it pisses me off that much more now when I see what CBS turned the show into. What a fucking hack job.

Forgot to mention I finished this weeks ago and absolutely loved it. His best novel in years. Now I'm reading a couple Neil Gaiman titles that I haven't read yet starting with his other "children's" novel:
Should be a quick read and then I plan to read his new novel The Ocean at the End of the Lane.

^ I want to read Under the Dome. Sounds like I'll steer clear of the show, though.
I'm almost done with Prodigal Son, which is the first book in a series (Frankenstein) by Dean Koontz. I can't shake the feeling that his books have some good ideas, but they're just a little too out there for me. This is a quick, easy read, but it's unlikely I'll be reading the following books in the series.

I haven't done a lot of reading lately. I was in the middle of both Catching Fire and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, but I just stopped reading them. Maybe I'll get back to them, but I don't know...

Forgot to post when I finished both of those a while ago. Both were quick reads. I'm kinda surprised that TOATEOTL wasn't also categorized as a kids novel as it reads a lot like Coraline and The Graveyard Book and is shorter than both of those as well. Now I'm taking a little break from the fiction to read:

No but on a serious note, if you're not familiar with it, who hasn't heard the term 'history is written by the victors'? Hence the title A People's History, as it's a retelling from the view and through the words of common people. I like it simply because it's been branded as a liberal retelling of history by right wing douche nozzles and has had conservative state governments ie. Indiana, try to ban it from being used in public schools.

Star Wars: Scoundrels
One of the better SW novels I've read. Does an exceptional job of balancing a story between a dozen characters, while providing enough characterization to be able to easily distinguish them from one another. If you're looking for more on Han and Chewie's adventures, it gets a high recommendation. Only about half-way through at this point, but would easily go an 8/10 so far.

I just finished that book lol. I thought it was really good and I ended up giving it a 9/10. Timothy Zahn is my favorite Star Wars author and once again he doesn't disappoint.
I'm currently reading: Star Wars Razor's Edge: Empire and Rebellion. I'm only a chapter into it so I can't really say if it's good or bad yet.

I'm actually considering reading Zahn's Thrawn series after I finish Scoundrels. Any thoughts on it? What about the Plagueis book? It's on my short list to read, too.
