I'm done arguing about it. The fact you both think NV had a good story line is enough to assume that we won't see eye to eye on this. Make a Obsidian thread if you wan't to discuss it further. We can chat about how shitty Alpha Protocol was compared to Fallout NV. It will be great.
Haha I didn't think this thread would put people at each others throat.
IMO Fallout 3 and New Vegas were both amazing titles, each with there own flaws regarding story and DLC.
Fallout 3 - Operation Anchorage / New Vegas - Honest Hearts =
Fallout 3 - Point Lookout / New Vegas - Old World Blues =
Also IMO The Brotherhood of Steele and the Enclave are two factions that made Fallout 3 awesome. Sadly New Vegas had very little to do with the Brotherhood of Steele and *spoiler* if you chose to, you can destroy the Brotherhood from the Mojave.
All this talk makes me hunger for more Fallout....must download Fallout 3 for PC.
Nah, the 3 of us pretty much always do this.

Lol just google it and go on message boards and read the responses. It's split pretty much 50/50. I'm not saying anything about reviews but about actual people's actual opinions. And there isn't an overwhelming majority for either side.
Usually the people trolling up the message boards still debating it represent the minority opinions.Which is normal when something you like get's panned. There's still Metallica fanboy's posting about how good St. Anger was
It's okay though! Once you started bad mouthing Kaim I knew we would disagree on more RPGs. Till next time!

Brilliant story! Brilliant characters! Brilliant game!!! <3
Loved Kaim although he was super emo and Jansen was funny as hell.

Unpopular opinion: Fallout NV is glorified DLC.
Oh yeah I said it.
This +1,000,000
Saying NV had a better setting is just ridiculous Kat, being put in a desert is the laziest thing ever. There were never really any special landmarks to even guess where you were without pulling up your map. Storywise it was worse, be a courier get double crossed and left for dead, hunt down man that shot you and then choose a side for a battle at the dam. On the other hand in F3 you get to help end the problem of irradiated water AND your father was Liam Neeson.
Fallout 3 wins on that alone.
I hate the east coast. FO belongs out west.

I was just out to Las Vegas last month, and Primm and a bunch of those rollercoasters and cities are real, so there is a bunch of landmarks, just not as many as recognizable ones as the capital of our country haha

And that's where it comes down to personal preference too. I love the western us. The history and the culture and the scenery. The east doesn't interest me that much until you get south. So I found the setting to be less interesting.
The story=/= barebones script breakdown, don't be a dooooosh, it's the characters and dialogue and nuances as well and Bethesda did with fo3 what it does with every game it puts out and stumbled and fell short. There are some interesting people and side quests but in general it didn't engage me. And the main story line wasn't good or fallout-y. I did what I have only had to do with games like 2 worlds... I had to put it down and come back later to play it.
I eventually enjoyed it, but it didn't pull me in or make me want more. It was years before I got the dlc. New Vegas was the opposite. I enjoyed the story, the shades of gray throughout, the sidekicks and their back stories and the lesser of 4 evils endings. And I liked most of the dlc.
Sooo. Bite me. And Liam Neeson has one of the most boring voices ever. EVER.

I know New York has been done to death, but fallout next gen in a city like that would be awesome. going up to different floors in different buildings that are left, traveling by subway and having a whole undercity as well as what's on top.
could be awesome.

I think you, me and a million other people are anxiously waiting for Bethesda to announce Fallout 4. I'm sure sometime next year we'll hear something about it. *crosses fingers*
As for co-op in Fallout, that would be pretty interesting. I've always enjoyed The Elder Scrolls/Fallout's single player game play but have wondered how much more awesome it could be if co-op was implemented. I could be pillaging a town and my co-op buddy will be killing all the town guards. I could be hauling ass from a ton of radiated feral ghouls and my co-op buddy would be left as a distraction. lol
Time will tell if Bethesda ever adds multiplayer to Fallout but next year we'll be getting The Elder Scrolls MMO which has tons of co-op goodness in it.

Edit- Has anyone played the Fallout game for the original Xbox/PS2? I think it was called Fallout Brotherhood of Steele.
I haven't, but from what I remember hearing about it, it wasn't liked that much as it wasn't an RPG, but more of an action type of game similar to the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games. Not that those are bad games, but trying to move the Fallout series from it's RPG roots to a different genre didn't sit too well with critics and consumers alike.

Kat is bad mouthing Liam Neeson now. Clearly she has been drinking too many Nuka Cola's.

Nonsense. I love Liam Neeson. If I was 500 years older I'd totally marry him.
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoilerAnd ask him to read me stories to help me fall asleep...

If you were 500 years older you could marry Kaim and have it not be weird.

True, but Kaim isn't into chicks that don't dress like clowns.
