This is a pretty good book and it portrays a good story but I don't like the movie at all.

Just finished:
The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan
I thought it was good, worth a read for fans of his (Del Toro) movies and supernatural stuff. The story is told in a fairly believable manner, at least for a book about vampires. I've seen it compared to Blade II meets CSI, and I can now say that's a decently accurate statement. I'm sure I'll read the second book at some point, but probably not in the immediate future.

Just finished the Legend of Vanx Malic book 1. Thought it was an interesting read, definitely regret not buying the whole series when they were all on sale on my Kindle.
Now I'm reading Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson. Really like this one so far. It centers on how people would react to getting "super powers", so far all of the "Epics" are assholes.

I would say more like I Am Legend meets CSI simply because Blade II was just turrible.
The first Blade movie was the only one I remotely liked. I plan on rereading The Strain in preparation for the show after I finish reading Words of Radiance, which has been amazing.

Have you read the other novels in the series? Worth a read? Yeah, the show is what initially sparked my interest in the books.

I am currently reading Star Wars The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance. I'm almost done with it. It follows 4 people. Each chapter is a different person which gets kind of annoying. They finally all meet half way through the book which a 5th person joins. Which just adds more annoyance. Seriously who names a female Sith character Axe? What a stupid name for a female. It's turned into a read on toilet book and the way my bowels are going this week I won't be done reading this for a while.

Yes. I've read the entire trilogy and absolutely loved it. The second and third novels are about just as long, if not a little shorter, than the first. It's been a few years since I first read them but I would definitely recommend you continue and finish the trilogy.

Volume Two of The Stormlight Archive just released this Tuesday! If your looking for a new saga to fill the void left by the ending of The Wheel of Time, I could not recommend this any more highly! And if you missed my previous posts on it, the first book is titled The Way of Kings.
Finished it today! It's just an amazing read and brilliant follow up to The Way Kings. Thru both books, the pacing does not relent and there's never a dull moment. He's said that each volume will focus on one key character in the flashback chapters. In The Way of Kings it was Kaladin, who's quickly become one of my all time favorite literary characters. In this one, Shallan is the focus of the flashback chapters and I'm amazed at how her character has progressed thru both volumes. I cannot wait for volume three which it's been reported that Szeth will be the focus of the flashbacks and the working title has changed from Stones Unhallowed to Skybreaker.
Now I'm gonna reread The Strain in preparation for the new FX series next month.

Now that I'm finished reading The Strain again, I think I'm gonna finally get to one of the novels I got from Rev in the XBA secret Santa exchange. I think I'll start with The Goldfinch as I've heard good things about it.
