Based on the covers, I'm assuming it's a Victorian period piece starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman?

I liked these a lot. If you enjoy the first one, the second one is even better (I think it's Girl Who Played With Fire?).
Also, I loved all the movies -- there are 3 Swedish films that cover the book trilogy, and then also 1 American movie of the first book.

I recently finished reading The Secret History or Twin Peaks. Loved it. I got the hardcover on Amazon and also listened to the audiobook version. The audiobook was a full cast reading. I saw recently Mark Frost is writing a second volume coming out later this year. Now I'm reading the Secret Diary of Laura Palmer while watching the series again in preparation for the new season next month. I've also been listening to a bunch of audiobooks over the last couple months. Mostly for novels I read years ago. I downloaded the Overdrive app which lets you check out ebooks, audiobooks, and videos if you have a public library card. I listened to Neil Gaiman's American Gods which was another great full cast reading, also in prep for the upcoming series on Starz. For shits and giggles I listened to the entire William Shakespeare's Star Wars Trilogy. Written in full iambic pentameter by author Ian Doescher who also performs in the full cast reading for the audiobooks which were fantastic. Now I'm checking out the Star Wars Aftermath trilogy which bridges the gap between the victory on Endor and the event of The Force Awakens. I'm almost done with the first volume and the guy reading it, Marc Thompson, is one of the best audiobook narrators I've ever heard. Can't wait to listen to the next one which largely focuses on Han and Chewie helping the Wookies liberate Kashyyyk.

So, Irish, I just finished "The Girl Who Played with Fire". Holy jumping garbanzo beans. There is a big difference between the movie and the books. The movie left a lot out.

Yeah. The novels are so much better than the Swedish films. I thought the Fincher film with Daniel Craig stuck to the novel a lot more.

Ok, now that I have finished all 3 novels, I see what you mean. The series is very good and they are by far so much better than the film series. Having said that though, I am done hearing about these characters for a long time.

Is there more material in it than what was in the "complete and uncut" version that was put out in the 90s? I think it was around 95 when I read it, so I'll have to pick up a new copy and see what's up. Of course- I don't remember details from so long ago, so it will probably all seem new to me lol.
