i was pretty bored/unimpressed

Rewatched the first Bourne movies, still solid, 8/10 for the series, plan on watching the new one next.
Another lame PG "horror" flick from Guillermo del Toro. Fans of The Grudge/Ju-on might like it. Gets 1 point because parts were unintentionally funny.
Tai-Chi Zero - 4/5 NNR
Awesome modern kung fu action with quirky humour and unique special effects. Subtitled only. Recommended to fans of Casshern, Ip Man, Kill Bill, Crouching Tiger.
More like boring them softly. Felt I should elaborate a little. I found it to be nothing more than a 1 hour 45 minute Brad Pitt stroke session and James Gandolfini pity party. I felt kinda bad for Ray Liotta getting his ass stomped by Vinny from Doogie Howser. I thought the opening five minutes did more than enough to set the time period and the tone but then they make us listen to Bush drone on about the financial crisis in the background on radio and TV for the majority of the first hour before they finally use some music in the soundtrack. I enjoyed most of the music they used except for that Nico song. I never understood what Lou Reed saw in her.

This is disappointing, as I've been excited to see it. I generally agree with most of your reviews...hopefully not this time..lol

I agree 100 percent w/ this review! snooze fest
I thought I was going to see a movie about a guy who survived on a raft with a tiger for 200 days. What I got was 120 minutes of religious fiction with red herrings that keep you guessing. You have to scratch your head and wonder if any of it had a point at all. Imagine making up your own bible story loosely based on a traumatic experience from your childhood and this is what you get. Fantasy with a deeper meaning...but no real meat and bones.
42- Awesome baseball movie and great acting some of the scenes had me offended and I'm not even black. But It's a great movie 4.5/5.
Elektra (Blu-ray) – pales in comparison to most of the Marvel flicks, but I thought it was serviceable nonetheless; definitely not as unwatchable as most people would lead you to believe. It doesn’t really tie in with Daredevil, so I’m not real sure what purpose it serves other than just strictly as a standalone movie. Elektra seems like a B hero in a B hero’s world (Daredevil), so I’m not familiar with the back story at all. I thought the villains had some cool powers, and the scenes where she was fighting them were pretty good.
6/10
Grandma’s Boy (DVD) – I’m not normally into comedies and this is no exception. I’ve always considered myself a pretty normal functioning person who happens to game, not a gamer that has to go about a normal life; there’s a big difference there. As such, I guess I have a hard time identifying with most of the movie. It’s largely unfunny, and tends to be more childish than anything else. I think this may be a good turning point to finally close the lid on these sorts of comedies for my viewing.
3/10
XXX: State of the Union (DVD) – a little bit worse than the original, but mostly just because of Ice Cube. Ice Cube is to Vin Diesel as Vin Diesel is to Tom Hanks. You could plug in almost anyone in this role besides him, and you’d have a *passable* action flick.
4/10
One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest (DVD) – masterful performance from Jack Nicholson, and some equally strong ones from the supporting actors. I think it’s a little more humorous than maybe it was intended to be, but a good movie nonetheless. I really liked the ending, too.
7/10
Gangster Squat (Blu-ray) – not on par with most of the gangster movies it tries to emulate, but it’s mostly decent. I thought the violence was a little over the top at times, but didn’t find it as offensive as a lot of critics seem to. The story never really goes anywhere, so don’t expect any nice twists or jolts. If you’re not expecting something fabulous (I wasn’t), you won’t be disappointed or surprised.
