Not hard at all. It's sad when their business plan recently is in the tablet / mobile space- touting "success" with Final Fantasy All The Bravest. Really? And a Deus Ex Human Revolution spinoff, on iPADs. No wonder the CEO quit, after that was released. It's sad when I have more faith, in the next Mass Effect, Dragon Age Inquisition, or even another release from Atlas, than "Lightning Returns" from Square Enix. I remember a time when the jump from "Final Fantasy II", to 'Final Fantasy III", meant more memories with some the greatest RPGs I've ever had the pleasure of playing. And yes- I understand it's different with JP/American numerals, but there's something to be said about it. I like V, but isn't it really a FFT-light? With Atlas' recent troubles, here's hoping there's a Persona edition on Xbox One. We did get Arena, so far...

I have FFXIII-2 sitting on my shelf. Trying to decide if it's worth the time and effort.

It is much faster to get to the "goods" than 13, and has some interesting new features, like how you collect monsters and pick 1 to be the 3rd person in each paradigm.
At the same time, it is primarily about Serah and a Sora-like nobody that falls out of the sky so you might have to grit your teeth a bit...

I saw some interesting (as in suggestive) character skins on sale and some being teased for XIII-3. When did Final Fantasy become Dead or Alive? The Mass Effect ones were pretty cool though.

Square-Enix does things differently because they're a Japanese company and they are making games for a Japanese audience first and foremost. In Japan, mobile games are HUGE and capturing that market is the key to a company's success. That leaves American gamers disappointed and wanting- but again, we are not their primary market. My main issue with them is that they are pushing mobile games, but they are just not competitively priced. In Japan, a phone game might sell for the same as a ds game, but here that's just freaking ridiculous.
Haze, xiii-2 is pretty decent... Meta nailed it. It's worth a playthrough.

...how suggestive? Are we talking like the dental floss Lisa wears if you beat DOA5's highest difficulty whatever the fuck survival mode? Cause if so, I might have to part with some BSpoints...
And really, they have Mass Effect-themed costumes? Man I never thought to look at DLC for XIII-2.

Lol not that suggestive, I'm guessing. Although they have said they bumped her to a d cup and have incorporated jiggle physics for lightning returns.

No wai, those are C's at best, up from the B's in XIII. But that's Lightning in FFXIII-3, right? -- I'm curious to see what kind of stripper fantasy rpg outfits they have for Serah in XIII-2.
And it's about damn time they incorporated jiggle physics. They are an integral, neigh quintessential element of gaming but all these code monkeys insist on things like graphical interfaces, action mechanics, cohesive narratives with scripted, cinematic story elements and so forth.

Ok I was trying to be super witty and facetious but that really is a stripper fantasy rpg outfit. I'll be damned.
Fuck yeah pink ruffles and anorexia!! I'm buying the BSpoints right now.

I paid good money for that Serah stripper DLC outfit, and played her through that way the whole game. No regrets. When I think "jiggle physics" though, it's completely out of context for Lightning's character. They'd sell twice as many copies if they just named the game "Tifa Returns". But this is the same company that turned Yuna from a priest into a pop star...

Never any damn fan service for the ladies.
Where am I supposed to go to see a tall, muscular man with longish wavy dark hair, big hands and gorgeous gray/green eyes 1/2 naked?
Oh- right...

Great, this thread has become a discussion about J-RPGs.
