I still haven't been able to really play/finish Eternal Sonata, Skyrim, Lost Odyssey or Dragon's Dogma (I already know DD will be in my top 5 once I do) so these are mine for now, in no order:
Oblivion
Dragon Age Origins
Witcher 2
Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning
Fallout 3 GOTY
Honourable mention to Mass Effect 2 and Sacred 2.
I love RPGs, more than any other genre they are what make me wish there was more time in a day. If I had a magical device that could freeze time for everyone but me I wouldn't do anything epic or world-changing, I would just get a comfortable chair and play every RPG ever.
Even the shitty eastern European ones.

1. Tales Of Vesperia
2. Fallout Series
3. Record of Agarest War Series
4. Mass Effect
5. Lost Odyssey
I didn't know if this was 360 only or not so I only posted 360 games.

The PS1 had more great RPG's then I could possibly list here. You would need a comfortable chair and two lifespans starting with just those.

These would be my picks, may or may not be in any order.
Oblivion
Skyrim
Fallout 3
Mass Effect
Dragon Age: Origins

Oblivion
Fable 2
KoA Reckoning
Mass Effect
Skyrim
Yes, I loved Fable, and the death of the KoA series before it had a chance is one of the biggest tragedies of this gaming generation as far as I'm concerned.

5 is tough!!!
Oblivion
Star Ocean
Two Worlds
Fallout New Vegas
Dragon Age
Top 10 would have been easier, lol...
That would have added
Tales of Vesperia
Kingdoms of Amalur
Dragon's Dogma
Divinity 2
Lost Odyssey
But it still isn't enough, lol.

Whoooo, Two Worlds. I loved that game. I never got the achievement for riding a horse though...
