I just hate taking medicine for things anyways. Not because I'm one of those herbal, all natural hippies or anything, but I generally just don't like feeling not quite myself (also why I don't drink or smoke and all that good jolly stuff). I don't mind Ibuprofen, but I hate the pain meds that make you all loopy. When I had stomach surgery a while back I refused to take my meds because they made me feel weird and my mom was freaking out. XD Oh well.

Yet "hospital" ibuprofen is usually just 800 mg of it. Though Snapple it IS a pain reliever, its drug classification is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). So it's better for pain relief when there are things like swelling involved.
Personally if I'm in that much pain, I alternate Ibuprofen with Acetaminophen (Tylenol) every two hours (Tylenol at 12pm and 4pm and ibuprofen at 2pm and 6 pm). That way you get the most pain relief with over the counter drugs. Plus you won't kill yourself with too much of anything.
Of course this is a temporary thing, not something to do on a consistent basis.
