lol wut? Maybe that was the very first ID CD? They were like straight up death metal back then though and now they're more deathcore with breakdowns and awesome guitar riffs and pretty enjoyable to listen to.
This is one of my favorite songs by them from like 2 CDs ago, love the breakdown:

I thought it was pretty mediocre at first, but Meshuggah's newest album Koloss is slowly growing on me.
I've noticed listening to it fairly loud and/or with a sound system that can articulate dynamic bass makes it much groovier. I'm not even saying that to troll, I normally don't listen to music crazy loud.
Too soon to pick favourite tracks yet, but I can say track 1 is not a great opener for what the rest of the album is.
It feels like a nice reflection of their last few albums--some songs have the weirdness and atmosphere of I and Catch-33, others have that slow, chugging, ultra heavy jazz groove from Nothing, and they even have some faster & more technical bits that call to mind obZen and Chaosphere.
It will be interesting to me what song becomes the "big one" from this album; nothing I've heard yet quite yells SINGLE like Future Breed Machine did on Destroy Erase Improve.
Also, the deluxe edition's DVD is fuckin' great. Every now and then I like to sit back and geek it up watching dry-as-hell documentaries of bands recording process, and the one here is good even if it lacks any particularly funny or chaotic moments. The 'Meshuggah in India' mini-movie was also very entertaining.

^^ Agreed, it came on my shuffle while at was at school the other day and I just immediately turned it up more because that's the only real thing you can do when Meshuggah's beats start hitting I'd say the real single's gonna stay 'break those bones..' for now, that song's sick though so it's alright. I bought my first CD on Itunes in a long time the other day, The Burial's Lights and Perfections.

New Acacia Strain
i havent listened to acacia strain since dead walk imo continent was a terrible album and kinda turned me away from them
Really? I loved Continent plus all their other albums, I think Vince has some of the best lyrics of any metal band and they're terrific to see live, Vince always says some hilarious shit live and never bites his tongue on any issue.
