Holy shit that was great. I never knew Creed had the chops to play like that, I'm impressed.
So someone talk about some current shit, I've had my head in a work-related hole for months now.
Anything good coming up? Any good concerts lately?
Behemoth's Nergal survived his cancer attack so I'm hoping they set up another tour in the US similar to what they were going to do before he decided to get AIDs or whatever.

YEAH! the new Behemoth album is already slated. i saw the cover the other day in my new Terrorizer mag but for the life of me i cant remember the name of it. ummm........new Meshuggah album was talked about. really cant wait. they said they werent impressed with the production of Obzen and wanted to return to their roots. new Arch Enemy album Khaos Legions blows dick. hard. if anything it just makes fun of Otep. mmmmmmmmm.................went to Warped Tour not too long ago. all i really enjoyed was The Acacia Strain. i broke a rib in the mosh. but besides that im tapped on new shite.
just read Disturbed is on hiatus. HAHA! fuck Derek Draiman.

Oh good, so Arch Enemy is now 2 for 2 of shitty albums. Hopefully their next one can be boring & terrible so they have a full trilogy of garbage.
I don't understand why either because the two Amott dudes in the band are both very talented and the singer Angela is awesome, there is no reason their music should be so tepid, fakey and uninspired when they get together.

my best friend holds your questions as well. his answer is that Khaos Legions was supposed to rip on Otep. i sorta agree. but yes, both Amott brothers are like, the definition of talent. why would they have 2 shite albums is beyond me.

Laments of Silence - Restart your Mind (album review)
Sounds like: HORD, Figure of Six, Sybreed, Fear Factory, Fear of Domination, Illidiance
Tagged: Melodic Death Metal, Cyber Metal, Groove Metal, Gothic Metal
i picked up these guys not too long ago, end 2010. i was skeptic at first but their singers melodies had me. if Cyber Metal had a face it would be Laments of Silence. they put Illidiance to shame in fact. i havent heard a voice so clean since listening to HORD's debut "The Waste Land"(amazingly enough it's a concept album. think FF's Obsolete basically). his vocals are brutal when need be and melodies that sound like they came from an angel. to take one out of Periphery's book "his voice goes UP like an angel and down like a wounded ox" the very industrial atomosphere compliments the grinding guitars like no other, with pounding double bass placed perfectly every step of the way. lyrically, they touch on humanity's flaws and the human condition in general. i love the direction they are going and CANNOT wait to hear more from these guys. im looking for tour dates now.
this album is done perfectly, and my only complaint is some songs didnt flow together right after each other, with about 5-6 seconds and the end of the song being silent. otherwise its a definite album to add to any metalhead's collection.
this album gets 5 Meta's snorting coke out of 5.

Eluveitie - Slania (Album Review)
Sounds like: Korpiklaani, Finntroll, Ensiferum, Turisas, Equilibrium
Tagged: Celtic Metal, Folk Metal, Pagan Metal, Melodic Death Metal
well lets make it 2 for 2 reviews. ive got nothing better to do
i went through a big Folk Metal phase awhile back and Eluveitie was prolly the biggest band i got into. i mean, dont get me wrong, i LOVED Korpiklaani and their songs of getting drunk and forest sprites, but Eluveitie had a feel that makes me yearn for my motherland Ireland.(even though these gents are from Switzerland lol) their sound almost captures the essence of rolling plains and green as far as the eyes can see on a countryside. their multi-instrument lineup is something truly of grace. ive never heard a fiddle or a flute sound so beast in metal. Slania was easily my favorite from their catalog with songs like Gray Sublime Archon, Inis Mona, Calling the Rain, Bloodstained Ground, Primordial Breath, and The Somber Lay. their vocalist always has this raspy metal vocal style with his foreign accent fairly obvious. oddly enough it goes well with their musical style, seeing as they're going for the "straight out of the forest" approach. the only thing about the album that disappointed me was if the songs were bad, they were bad. which 6 good out of 11 songs isnt the best. i recommend picking up the album for the good songs, but besides that its decent.
Slania gets 4 noob hating AJ's out of 5

I don't want to sound like a fanboy, but here it goes. Personally, I have been blown away on how solid Between the Buried & Me's album's have been in the past 6 years or so. I STILL listen to "the great misdirect" almost every day since it has came out almost 2 years ago. I have loved every CD they have put out MINUS "The Silent Circus". I caught on to them when a friend of mine played the "Alaska" album for me right when it came out. I had just graduated high school a few months prior, and they sounded like nothing I had ever heard, at all.
While everyone was going crazy for bands like Bleeding Through & Norma Jean at the time, I was becoming more & more obsessed with them. I was just blown away how amazing they sounded instrumentally, and how compelling their music really was and still is. I still to this day cannot grasp how Tommy Rogers can play instruments AND sing AND scream.
I mean, their new CD is a mere 3 songs and still clocked in at almost exactly a half hour...that's insane! Bands like this I love because they really show up these crappy bands such as Asking Alexandria whom have a fanbase that consists of 12 year old little scene girls that like the band because of their looks. A new age BMTH if you will. To me, they are still somewhat of a dark horse band, yet they always compete with ADTR for top albums sold on their labels site, even with how much exposure A Day to Remember has gotten since "Homesick".
@Chaind Insanity: When I looked at that little thing in your sig and seen fear factory as a top artist, I instantly got geeked lol. Obsolete is one of my favorite albums ever. Def one of the best concept CD's I've heard!

@SaviorSelf much oblige. i enjoy your name. Divine Heresy reference? i personally prefer Demanufacture as my fav FF album. i did an entire review for all the FF albums here awhile back.

True that man, I might go see Parkway Drive, Deez Nuts, Of Legends, and On Broken Wings the 19th this month, too bad BMTH is headlining. I hate them.
