went to a concert today with a buddy of mine at Gallery 13 in Columbus. a bunch of those Christian Metalcore/Hardcore bands were playing, about 10 of them. all i have to say, is fuck hardcore dancing. idk if you hardcore dance, but you are just ruining it for everybody at a concert. i do NOT want you jumping on me or throwing yourself into me or just running at my general direction. i do not want that unless im in a mosh pit, which believe it or not, i DONT want to be in all the time. geez, half the time i couldnt even take a moment to listen because i was bracing myself to punch whoever came near me next. shit's brutal yo. and to top that off, i only saw 3 legitimate mosh pits. everything else was random ass movement.

/rant

bands i remember that played:
Convictions
Cherokee
We Are Defiance
The Great Commission
Your Memorial
Serianna
(a few more that arent worth mentioning)

overall, not a fun experience. but it was different.

Man that reminds me of this local band I saw a few years back (dont remember their name tho) man, people just went crazy when they started playing their cover of Sad But True. The band wasn't really good...at all, but the audience still blew their fucking lid.

Anyway, were any of the bands you were able to hear worth listening to?

The Great Commission and Convictions. i made friends with the guitarist of Convictions, he's a pretty chill dude. amazingly enough, doesnt even listen to a lot of heavy stuff, just Indie really. but yeah, it REALLY wasnt my scene, considering i dont listen to Christian based Metalcore/Hardcore, but idk. they were heavy. i'll give them props for getting even me pumped.

in other news, going to see The Browning, Fear Factory, and Shadows Fall tomorrow at the masquerade. cannot wait.

Shadows Fall is way better to listen to live IMO, they sound so much heavier live, haven't seen them in a few years, they got a new CD coming out next month though I believe?

Yeah their last 2 CDs I haven't really gotten in to, I liked that one song off of Threads of Life I think it was where the guitar does the squeal at the end of the riffs, I think they had a music video for it, can't remember at all.

EDIT- Found the song, it's 'Burning the Lives,' the guitar squealing starts near the end with the solo haha, good song.

well, just got back from seeing The Devastated, The Browning, Legacy of Disorder, Shadows Fall, and Fear Factory. fun stuff. got to chat with pretty much every member of each band, minus Dino and Burton from FF. i could only say hey this, or whats up that, got acknowledged a couple times. went out back and chatted with new ff drummer Mike Heller, who is a VERY awesome person, along with a few guys from legacy of Disorder, who are from New Zealand. cool guys, love the states they say and one of them plans to stay. took a few pics, made a few friends. good times. hands down, best performances in a LONG time. minus The Devastated, who's singer choked a member of the crowd who did nothing to him.

Pics, so far. few more to add. yes, the others will be in much better quality, i hope.

How was Shadows Fall? I'm not a huge fan of their music but they are talented writers and I've heard they are twice as good live.

the light show was INTENSE! brian and his dreads flinging around to lights flashing and a smoky background. fucking brilliant. but the best part of the night was when every single person got together at the front of the stage and started singing FF songs with Burton. we all knew the lyrics :p

So I'm just now getting home (Dayton, OH) from Mayhem Fest in Noblesville, IN. Had an awesome day. Slayer and Slipknot pretty much blew me away. This was my first time seeing Slayer and second time seeing Slipknot. Spit It Out just never gets old!
