German-based group Cypecore is a force to be reckoned with. their 2008 debut 'Innocent' shook the earth around me before cracking and throwing me under into an assault of heavy hitting metal. basically sounding, these guys are the male-fronted version of Arch Enemy that should have been (im talking about YOU Johan Liiva) with a Soilwork electronic sound. a space-age Arch Enemy. combining great rhythms, memorable melodic riffs, pulse pounding drums, symphonic keyboards, and a great lead vocalist; these guys are an A++. an odd quirk about them is the way they start and finish their albums (which now date 2, with 'Take the Consequence' released in 2010). always start off with a track called "Intro" and finish with a track entitled "Outro" which are really cool songs to say the least. key songs i've so far 5-starred: Everdying, ...And Death was Nothing to Him, Final Hour, Signs, Innocent, and Something Inside. overall, i'd even go out on a limb to say their guitarist has the style of Michael Amott. the "Melodic" part comes from their guitarist's sound. i really enjoyed listening to this album from start to finish, and im starting to listen to 'Take the Consequence', and really look forward to hearing more from these boys.
'Innocent' gets 4.5 Silent Circus's out of 5
