RED- 10/10, AWESOME action flick, mad I waited this long to check it out, humorous too.
The latest stop on my Hitchcock tour was kinda of a disappointing one. Jimmy Stewart stars in this 1956 espionage thriller as an American doctor on vacation with his wife (Doris Day) and son in Morocco when he unwittingly learns of an assassination plot in London and their son is kidnapped to ensure their silence. This was actually a remake of Hitchcock's 1934 thriller of the exact same title. He just changes the location from Sweden to Morocco. It starts out kinda slow and the ending is really abrupt and a little anticlimactic for a Hitchcock piece. Of the three Hitchcock films that I've seen starring Stewart, this is definitely my least favorite which is a shame since I had high hopes for it as Vertigo and Rear Window are my two favorite films of his that I've seen so far. Doris Day is probably my least favorite of Hitchcock's blonde leading ladies so far as well.
The third to last stop on my Hitchcock tour is yet another espionage thriller starring Cary Grant and the last film they made together. This time he plays a New York advertising executive who through a case of mistaken identity is believed to be a secret agent by some unsavory characters and ends up on the run after being framed for murder. I really enjoyed this film. It was very well paced and full of witty dialogue. Cary Grant was one suave motherfucker and Eva Marie Saint was Hitchcock's glorious blonde leading lady this time. I saved what are probably his two most iconic films for last, The Birds and Psycho, which I'll be viewing and rating next weekend. Can't wait.
By far this is Adam Sandler's worst movie ever. My wife talked me into watching it and I had to leave the room after the first 10 minutes. I asked her why she hated me so much to make me watch this movie.

I could've told you that man

I just watched "Punk Drunk Love" for the first time the other day. Adam Sandler can act. Most of his movies seem like such a waste of talent now.
It is so funny I love this movie so much :)
The second to final stop on my Hitchcock tour was probably his most well known film. I had not seen it in many years and shamefully remembered the two shitty sequels from the 80's more. Anthony Perkins was fantastic as Norman Bates. It was just all around a fantastic film.
I especially liked how Hitchcock chose to shoot it in black and white even after shooting a number of his previous films in color. The musical score sets the tone brilliantly and raised the bar for every film ever made since. I would have saved this for the last installment of my marathon but I've viewed all the previous films in sequential order and I wanted to end it with a film I have not seen yet in The Birds which I'll probably watch tomorrow night.
The final stop on my Hitchcock tour was a bit disappointing. There's aspects of this film that I liked but they were outweighed by the deficiencies. The cinematography was brilliant for it's time period but unfortunately that's all I felt this film has going for it. Tippie Hedron was a hottie but the plot was laughable, there's a glaring absence of any musical score and the ending is abrupt and very anticlimactic.
We never learn why the birds go crazy. I kept expecting it to have something to do with the Love Birds she brings with her but nope.
1. Vertigo
2. Psycho
3. Rear Window
4. North By Northwest
5. Strangers On A Train
Not an amazing movie, but I enjoyed it just like I enjoyed the first 2 (although I own Rise of the Lycans, I actually have not watched it yet). Very action oriented, and I refused to watch it in 3D since my girlfriend cannot see it, so I cannot attest to whether or not it was just tacked on. If you're a fan of the series its definitely worth a viewing.
The 1962 original starring Robert Mitchum and Gregory Peck. Both put in great performances especially Mitchum as the bad buy but I'm still a little more partial to the 1991 remake starring Robert DeNiro and Nick Nolte.
Much better then that terrible remake of "Clash of the Titans". Could have used a bit more action and I am getting somewhat tired of Mickey Rourke's cliche bad guy roles. But it was a solid film all-around.
Edit: I just noticed the guy with Harry Potter as his gamer picture gave "Woman in black" a 10/10
