Wonder why it would sell out day 1... Even if it was looking like they WEREN'T going to screw people over with the console, it's shipping months from now and even if they manufacture a shortage, as usual- the good games probably won't release at launch.
Sigh- people.

Hey man, I got this AWESOME DEAL but you have to totally buy now before you have time to realize it's not that great!
Since when did Gamestop start using hard sales tactics? I thought they were more the "annoy you until you buy" type place.
I think their jobs ride on preorder sales... Seems like it, anyway.

I'm. Not. Buying. It. If. Rumors. Are. True.
^The broken sentence is a purposeful annoyance.
The launch batch always has high failure rates and the good features are patched in. It also takes 3-4 years to make them not fail terribly. Look at the 360, and now more high tech components that they know nothing about the durability of are coming into play. I hope it has a MASSIVE heat sink and hellacious FAN. The Kinect can't be turned off or disconnected, so if it breaks…, and my Internet will sometimes have a long outage for up to 3 months a couple of times (I wasn't charged for service.) and I'm not going to rush home to turn my console on every day. Surprisingly enough, I have a life, school to attend, and more productive things to do sometimes. I consider myself to be a somewhat hardcore gamer, but because of the type of games I play. I also buy games used and if they make me pay to activate a used game it's a deal breaker. I'm not having the 1984-come-true-Box in my house.

Hopefully the free games deal get a little better as time goes on, the initial games they announced have been played by 98% of everyone who owns an Xbox, it's a good stolen idea though since deal of the week has been awful for the last year now,

I believe that this is the first time that I haven't been excited about the new console generation. I'm quasi-interested in Dead Rising 3, but since I know that I will never be able to play it after XBOne support ends, it doesn't seem like it's worth the investment.
On the other hand, I won't have to find a spot for it in my game room. A plain black box would have just stood out amongst the Ataris and Dreamcast and whatnot. Those old bad boys had a style all their own...

The Dreamcast and PS2 were the most excited I ever was for new consoles. I think I dropped 500 + to get a PS2 due to them being completely sold out across the board.

Preorders available now. I just got the email.
And I won't be ordering one. Or will I? Someone tell me what to do.
Edit- The 499$ price tag is what makes me actually consider it.
