I'm not much for posting links but I did read an interview with one of the M$ guy's talking about how the kinect can be set to what ever level of interaction you what it to be. In other words, your in control of what it see's and does. IF true then I'm fine with that. Also he was talking how the dashboard works the same way. you can set it up how ever you what with what ever features you what. That sounds good to me if it means I don't have to look at ads or other crap that I don't care about. Would like to hear more about these types of customised options and if true alleviate some of my fears about what is really going on with Kinect.
YOU CAN'T TURN IT OFF.
If they are going to let you set how much it sees and hears, why require it? OH RIGHT- because they can have the settings look like they're off and still have the mic running and no one would know. If the government has something that can tap your phone and only start recording when you say certain words, why not MS? And the camera has night vision.
Imagine how much money they can make selling information to advertisers with cameras and mics in millions of homes across the world.
"They say" you can change the settings- pardon me if I'm a bit skeptical of "them."
The Xbox one is a decepticon spy!

You guys all suck.
I'm actually extremely uncomfortable being watched and heard by an always on Kinect and is making me lean towards PS4 . Then again I could just unplug it when I'm not using it.

After the Xbox-ones big reveal amazon reported a over a 300% increase in Wii-U sales. Gamestops stock also dropped like 15%. Talk about "Not going as planned".

I think the wii u sales are more related to people graduating and getting gifts for finishing 8th grade/high school/etc since its graduation time.

That would be feasible if the sales boost wasn't within 24 hours of the reveal.

it wasn't over 24 hours, and I'm sure the recent price drop had NOTHING to do with it.
also amazon stats are extremely skewed, it doesn't mean it's selling that many more times what it was originally, just that it has moved up different spots this making it that percentage higher

Just admit it. Microsoft shot itself in the foot so bad it's either going to have to completely revamp the xbox-one or make like Sega and gtfo.

But you just said it was due to graduations!
Regardless of the reason, I think it's funny they're reporting an increase in sales. Though I still figured that the Wii U would be a dead console by the time the PS4 and XBoner came out. I guess the thought of two crappy consoles gives them a chance.
Although with all these rumors flying around about the XBoner, it's possible MS will fix some of the stupid ideas they had and make it worthwhile.

Xbox one or the Riddlers mind control machine from Batman Forever. You decide.
