I just think (meh). Obviously a TV show isn't going to have the budget of a normal Marvel movie, so this was what they came up with. If I had any say it in, I would have proposed it from the perspective of the miniseries MARVELS, where the perspective in the aftermath of the Avengers, are people just like you and me. You can have very limited appearances from Marvel characters doing battle, introducing a plethora of their catalog, while keeping most of the story focused around well-written, "ordinary" people like you and me, living in a world among Gods:

They could have even called the show MARVELS, which would have had more marketing value, and with such a big catalog to pull from, these brief appearances could have gone on for indefinite seasons all throughout the Marvel Phase 2, 3, 10, etc. Certain members of the "main" human cast could have brief encounters with a hero or two- & could also be suddenly killed off, like LOST, or WALKING DEAD, a la living in a world of Gods, anything can happen & no one is safe.
The first 5% of the plot for good movies, games, the skeleton of it, is what really determines winners and losers.
