Joss Whedon wrote a Wonder Woman treatment / heavily involved with a Wonder Woman movie that never got off the ground, & adores the character, along with (a personal Jersey BFF man-crush of mine, Kevin Smith). They all want to see the character have justice. She's the most recognizable female superhero ever. And she has roots in the bigotry & sexism of the early 1900's, in how her character was displayed in erotic bondage from her villains (look at her early comic book covers).
There's many more (frankly) interesting female superheroes created, since then- but brand recognition is tantamount. Wonder Woman is something people the world over, knows. So it's disappointing, to use that word-- that the 1st real representation of her, on a bigger budget movie- is a slim trophy girl made famous from a street racing franchise. As terrible as Megan Fox would've been, even she has more "gravitas" than this girl.
You can't be serious, you just can't. Megan Fox and dignity in the same sentence. Because you know nothing screams seriousness and dignity than comparing a director you've worked with to Hitler.
Also, so what if Gal Gadot is slim? That automatically should discard her from the running of being able to play WW? Last I checked Megan Fox wasn't much more famous for anything other than being strutted about as a trophy girl herself.

But have you seen This is 40? Megan Fox was aggressively decent in it.
And... yes I would say that actress being the complete opposite body type of the character would indeed discard her from the running since there are 3498235235435 other actresses out there that conform a little bit more to an "amazonian goddess made of clay" and super femme.

Wow never thought I'd be defending a casting choice for a Superman movie. I feel sick.
I will definitely concede your point, as Hugh Jackman proved the very concept when he became the Wolverine. Well-played, sir.
I must, however, take some small notion of pride in having induced nausea.

should of went with the chick from thor movies or something.

Megan Fox is aggressively terrible in everything- even video game commercials. If she disappeared from Hollywood, 50% of people wouldn't notice
and the other 50% would just say something about how Angelina Jolie seems to have gotten more consistent as an actress.
Blech. either way, Megan fox isn't an amazon either. Who is? Are there really billions of 6' tall sturdy but still gorgeous women acting today?
I like Gal Gadot, I think she's pretty and if they had chosen a larger framed woman, the internet would have exploded with what a fat ass Wonder Woman is. It's an unwinnable situation.

The answer is simple just get a porn star. They have tons of acting experience and they would have the plastic surgery for the curves lol.
but yeah with how movie actresses are supposed to be, there really isnt any options for a beautiful actress with that body frame. Its a shame because it represents a terrible image for womens beauty.

They don't need to be 6' tall, they just need to have the right look and proportions. At least get in the same ball park.
And yes the unwashed masses at large would call her a fatass but the unwashed masses down-vote everything anyway.
The situation would be winnable by finding an actress who looks approximately like Wonder Woman.
Gal Gadot does not look approximately like Wonder Woman.
++edit++ ok I just realized we are all discussing this in the marvel thread...

Natalie Portman doesn't look approximately like Jane Foster either.

Natalie Portman is a good example. You can't just "train" and make her look like Gina Carano. I can train 12hrs a day with the best body building coaches in the world- I will NEVER have a body like The Rock. It would be like me, being cast as Hercules. But furthermore, why shoot yourself in the foot- if you're buying a new car, for example- would you rather defend your purchase to your friends, saying "well I'm going to get a new paint job on it, and new tires, and fix the engine" or do you spend the same amount of money on something that shines right off the lot?
Why piss off your consumer base? Similar to Microsoft's 180 on Xbox One- it's a few people that make a few dumbass decisions, that live in a bubble and are disconnected from the public they're marketing the product to.
Did you read Gal Gadot's tweet about winning the role?
"Wonder Women! So exciting!!! Can't express how happy I am )))"
Wonder WOMEN? And could you use enough happy faces?
OMG so excited to play the most badass female evar!?!?! )))
Need to start reading the comics!!! Hope she's with Wolverine,
Hugh Jackman is so sexy!!! YUM!!! )))))
