Has anyone been playing through the game with the black and white option enabled to make it more reminiscent of the time period? I just started, I'm only on the first case but I think I may give it a shot and see if it adds or detracts from the game.

Just aim and don't shoot. When the aim circle fills up, providing the suspect is still in your sights, you should be able to arrest him. At least that's the way it worked in one of the first missions.

I'm only three cases in but Noire is quite an interesting game! It's so different than any game I've played before. Your gun spends more time tucked inside your jacket pocket than in your hand and the times I do use it I try my hardest to apprehend the suspect alive rather than gunning him down.
I'm approaching this game slowly only playing a case at a time as I have no urge to fly through it. When I'm not playing I find myself wanting to return but the amount of thinking and preparation needed to solve a case correctly keeps me away long enough and gives me a solid break between each case.
My only real quarrel with the game is during interrogation sequences. It's probably user error but I find myself backing out of accusations and fumbling over myself causing me to take the wrong route losing credibility. Its most likely just user error but the same simple mistakes seem to keep recurring. Hopefully my clumsiness will die down as I get more use to the notebook system implemented.
Bottom line I'm confused if I should be happy or sad I purchased this game for $60 new. I find myself loving this game but at the same time being bored with it. I just don't know what to think...

Yea the only minor complaint I have with the game so far is that the audio seems off in certain places or way too loud/way too quiet in other instances. Sometimes it sounds like they recorded the audio in a small garage then tacked it onto the game and it sounds really awkward, hard to explain. Also in the interrogations and interviews I find it odd when one second your screaming at a suspect then the next you're completely calm and it doesn't seem to affect the characters in any way and they hardly notice, just feels really out of place sometimes, other than that the game's a blast.

I LoL'd. There's also been a few instances where I think the facial capture might be too good. Have you noticed sometimes Cole just has a total "duh" look when he's listening to witnesses or other cops talk?

In my experience with street crimes, only a very small number of them involve you arresting anyone. I've played 21 so far and about 18 have been instances where there was no other option other then to shoot them.

I am really enjoying this game so far. One thing though, why does every criminal seem to be a track star and an acrobat? How many people do you know that can sprint for a half mile then scale the side of a building by using the pipes?

Game was pretty good. Got stale in the middle of it all. Sometimes the story bothered me to the point of just not wanting to continue as it was just out of left field and b.s. but that's the life of the era of the game. I put about 18hrs into it. 5starred all cases, found all clues, found all landmark, found all newspapers, and am now at the point of just wrapping things up. My overrall stats show I am about 75% complete.
I still stick with my origina rating of 8.5 out of 10.
Now let's bring on this weeks new releases...lol
