I had a launch system til Feb. 07 when the picture went out, I played UNO blind for 2 weeks then sent it in and got a brand new one. In May of that year, I traded toward an elite. I sold the elite and bought the Halo system in August 08. I bought the RE5 system after selling the Halo system in Feb 09. I then bought my slim during E3 2010, around June, and eventually sold the RE5 system. That makes 6 consoles total.

Not sure what it costs to ship 360's but my bro in law called Microsoft a few days ago for his. It's warranty ended in November, so he cracked it open and fixed it himself. He does all that tech shit at his job.
I know he put up a craigslist for fixing them and has fixed 4 since then.
Not sure what he charges, I think it's $30 or $40, but if anyone is local to Omaha, NE, or wants to pay the shipping to and from, I know he fixes them cheaper than Microsoft.

i traded in my ps2 and original xbox and about 95 games between them and got about $800 credit at gamestop, which i regret. bought the 360 and 4 games and got the rest in credit. then the forth controller port started lighting up red about 2 months after warranty. so i bought i a used arcade and used my pro hard drive. then at sam's club (where i work) they canceled and marked down the re5 elite from 398 down to 255 so i bought that and it still works, but when the new slim 360's came out they marked down the old 120gb elites so i bought an extra for insurance purposes only and it was only 150 and it is still in the box i only opened it to take the game out to add to my collection (lego batman and pure) so i have owned 4 but have only played 3. to much detail i know

I've technically had 4.
Bought first one (Pro) in early 2007, it lasted until early 2010 when it got an E74.
Bought a second one from a friend (the original bottom-line one before they had Arcades) in 2009 and it got a RRoD around the same time the first got E74.
Luckily, they changed the warranty to cover E74's right before my main console got that error, and the second one was less than a year old so still under original warranty.
Haven't had any problems with either console since getting them back from MS.

2 since my old Xbox Pro which I had had since 12/25/2007 croaked (red halo of doom) on 08/19/2011 and has been replaced

I burned through 4 original 360's including two ring of death's and one disc tray malfunction where it would litteraly spit games out at random. My shiny black newer model has been working perfect for about a year now. Hopefully that will not change.
