Nah I agree with you. Not the worst game ever made. That's why I refer to metacritic as some reviewers are too generous and some railroad a game but you can't fool the average. It's pulling a 5, probably 6 after a few more reviews which is about right.
I agree, I always refer to Metacritic and gamespot since even with specific sites, different reviewers will do things differently. I like getting the aggregate ratings. I'd like to see XBA as a critic on metacritic, actually.

And I liked Lost... Sort of. Thinking back on it, anyway. Maybe not as I played it, but later I remember thinking that it wasn't THAT bad.
Lost, for me, wasn't interesting since I wasn't into the show yet. If I had played it later after I became a fan of the show, I imagine I would've enjoyed searching the island and interacting with the characters more. It WAS that bad, though! Carrying the dynamite while being chased by the smoke monster and the shitty caves that you can't see anything are enough of a reminder of how terrible that game was!

It will climb to at least 60 for sure. War in the North got a 61, Divinity II a 62 and Risen a 60. I'd put it in the same ballpark.

I would have put Risen in the 40 range.

I'd put them all in the 40 range
Games that actually get 40's usually deserve 0's. Like Jumper or Hulk Hogan's Main Event.

Easy games shouldn't even get ratings based on game quality. Easy 1k? Guess what? It sucks.

Indeed! I was a huge fan of the show when I played the game I thought it sucked donkey balls. The whole time I was playing it, I wanted to like it and kept trying to fool myself that it had any redeeming value but to no avail. At least they had the collaboration from George R.R. Martin with writing the story of this game. I don't think JJ Abrams or one of the writers from LOST had anything to do with the game. Maybe if they had it would've been different.
- I just checked it's imdb page and JJ Abrams does have writer credits for it so that makes it even worse considering how bad it was. What was he thinking?

I took my kids to Gamestop today and I asked the guys there about the game and they said it was best to avoid it until it drops in price to $10.00. That will take about 6 months.

I'm liking it more as I progress through it. The story is prolly the best thing this game has going for it. I've never seen so many damn secret achievements in one game! At least 35 of the 50 cheevos are secret. It'd annoy me more if I didn't have the strategy guide.

the story is the best part of the game,i love mors storyline more then the other but its because of the black watch.if they did a stand alone game about the black watch and going into the north and fighting the whitewalkers id probably buy it this second.
the secret achievements are annoying, but i got the guide book too so im just play through the game not worring about them and saving when i start every chapter then il go back and do the secret achievements later.

I am about 6 hours in and I like it a lot so far. The combat queue system was weird at first but I adjusted to it pretty quick, it actually feels a lot like the first Dragon Age game Origins.
The graphics are just okay but I wouldn't call them bad, although some of the models and animations are pretty bad. The sound and voice acting is fine, I don't understand the complaints about those.
Really the only "negative" I can see about the game so far is that some of the NPCs' speeches are too long-winded. It takes a long time for them to relay a small amount of information about your quest or events of the story, and that is something the show and books did a good job of avoiding.

I'm a big NPC dialogue skipper in RPGs, I'm hoping they let you hit X or A or something to make the dialogue go by quicker? I usually play with subtitles and read it 8 times faster than they relay it
