You were also a fan of Resident Evil:Racoon City and LOTR War in the North. Low standards yo
This game was a simple case of trying to make money on name recognition. The embargo on reviews till after the release on a low budget title speaks volumes.

I could give two shits and a fuck about IGN's review. They're prolly just all butt-hurt for not getting advanced copies to review and if that's the case than how did they get an honest review done on day one? I've barely scratched the surface of this game so I'm reserving judgement until I've played thru it some more.

IGN's not the only critics in existance. Game Informer and Gamesbeat both said the same things they did. Bad voice acting, bad graphics and buggy gameplay.

I'm holding off on getting it until I find a copy used (hopefully this weekend, lol). It's only a 20-30 hour game, so even if I love it, 7 days is enough time to play it and return it!

There is a context here that shouldn't be overlooked. With powerhouse titles like Skyrim and Witcher coming out fairly recently, there's a possibility that a game like this could get dropped a few points by reviewers. IGN is certainly good for comparison rating instead of individual merit rating.
I'm not saying to automatically add points or anything like that, but I certainly keep that in mind. Also, big fans of a series can usually add a point or two just for their interest in the subject as long as the game isn't broken or completely out of canon.
So IGN's review could easily translate from a 4 to a 7 or so for a GoT fan. Just sayin'!
As for a cynic like me, I'm not surprised that it got 4s. I have come to expect that from games made from awesome shows, books and/or movies. (I'm looking at you, Lost: Via Dumbass!)

Then there you go. Actually 6 is about what I would expect. A 4 on my scale would be in discussion with games like Eragon and Bionicle Heroes. Not the worst of all time, but terrible anyway.

It's definitely better than that POS. I'll admit my early assessment is this game maybe garners a 6 or 7 so far. If you're not a fan of the novels or show than you'll most likely wanna wait on this one. I'm not too thrilled with the combat system yet but I'm hoping it progresses a little as you rank up and unlock more abilities, attacks and better weapons. I'm just glad it's not turn-based but the combat does feel restricted. You start off with 3 special attacks and you can "queue up" 3 attacks at a time during a fight. I died like 6 times on the easiest difficulty level while on the first boss battle before I realized you really need to utilize the "auto pause" slow motion feature, especially early on. I beat him the first time I used it. It's unlimited so you can leave it on for the whole battle if you want. I've only started 2nd chapter so I don't have any experience with Alester's magic yet.

RPG fan gave it a 75. Ccc and gamesbeat weren't on metacritic when I posted, either. If you read ccc's review, the reviewer never finished the game, and I'm sorry, that makes me automatically discount them as a credible review... I planned to review Kinect starwars but couldn't force myself to play through it so I decided I was unable to review it, I didn't spew some half assed review full of vitriol.
I'm not saying the game is good... It's not getting $60 from me, that's for sure, but it doesn't seem to be in "the worst game ever made" category, which is what 3.8 and 4 reviews insinuate.
And I liked Lost... Sort of. Thinking back on it, anyway. Maybe not as I played it, but later I remember thinking that it wasn't THAT bad.

Nah I agree with you. Not the worst game ever made. That's why I refer to metacritic as some reviewers are too generous and some railroad a game but you can't fool the average. It's pulling a 5.2, probably will raise to 6 after a few more reviews which is about right. I knew people would preorder this just because it has "Game of Thrones" on the cover but you should know what your getting.
PS: Lost Via Domus had a 55/100 based on 50 reviews.
