On a separate note, I'm level 10 and still haven't done the first major story mission. Is this normal or am I overkilling it? Playing on second highest difficulty

So I meant to tell this story earlier: while randomly wandering the Hinterlands I came across this bigger-than-normal ram named Lord Woolsely that had red eyes. When I killed it, a rage demon popped out, it made me laugh.
My roommate says it is part of a sidequest you can find where some farmer says a ram has been talking to him, lelz.

lol yeah you messed up a quest. I actually didn't kill him, I just completed the quest.
Thanks Meta... you're always full of wisdom.

Meta is full of something, that's for sure.
I am 10 hours in to my Hard playthrough as a male mage. I have to make sure to recruit everyone again (I had told Cole to die in a fire last time) and become close friends with 3 inner circle people for the achievements.
My custom world state from the Keep actually loaded this time, and I am going to play my mage as a complete jerk, so I'm looking forward to little changes this time around. Plus I will of course be siding with the rebel mages instead of the Templar this time.
The multiplayer continues to be very fun with the roommates, despite all the glitches. It's fun trying alternate builds with the characters, like an all-offensive, lightning magic-based Keeper, or an Alchemist that uses AoE daggers and specializes in combat skills instead of the flasks and traps.
We are to the point now that the 3 of us can beat Perilous missions most of the time, provided we aren't bringing low-levels. We even take out the demon commander more times than not now (bringing a Legionnaire with Walking Fortress makes all the difference).
Also, about the ending:
So holy crap, Solas and Flemeth are both ancient elven gods... in fact, Solas is the "wolf" that originally banished the old gods and created the Fade to separate the spirit world from the physical one. Did not see that coming.

Sucks for people who romanced Solas. All two of them.

Actually, Solas seems to be a pretty popular dude among girls who play the game. Something about his voice. Idk, my character is human so I didn't get an option.

I need to find me a good Masterwork plan for a single hand sword. I just completed the Elven sword quest where you get the four pieces and get them reassembled. I was totally stoked looking at the stats on that bad boy and then realized it was a two handed sword. Damn.
I've got quite a few hours invested in this gem of a game and I'm impressed. Solid story line, good soundtrack, and easy to use controls. I did notice that they did borrow from the Mass Effect sound effects library. I can't remember the name of the green things that can pop out of the ground when you are closing a rift but they sound awfully like Banshee's. That sheer and nerve bending scream.
Yeah the Banshees sound the same, and those things are just as annoying, popping out of the ground. Pretty sure Jennifer Hale voiced a friend of Varric's (you get that personal quest around the half way point)
