Well that's because the movie and game were made AFTER the book. And games and movies made about books almost always suck. But the book is fantastic. You should read it.
ALSO: Look at these. Chunky bars. What a god awful mess these things are. Ya, that's exactly what kids want in their chocolate - FRUIT.

If you're a fan of fantasy, I recommend you give it a try. I love the books but I've never seen the game or movie.

If you're into Fantasy type stuff the Coldfire Trilogy by CS Friedman is good. Also the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan is one of my favorites - though I haven't read the latest installment (11 or 12?)
