Lucky, lucky. It really wasn't worth it in the end.
I can't believe what I'm hearing! What do you mean by that? The Harry Potter series was incredible, and I'm really thankful for the experience of reading them.

Oh, it was a great series but, the actual fight with Voldemort was disappointing. I expected a lot more from it. And to be disappointed with what I was waiting for years for is a killer to me.

Medieval fantasy is about all that I read, and R.A.Salvatore is easily my favorite author in this genre. He wrote a few Star Wars novels, but is best known as the creator of the Companions of the Hall series of Forgotten Realms novels. It features Drizzt Do'urden, a Drow Elf that lives on the surface and has denounced the ways of his evil kin. Yes I am a huge nerd in that respect, as I love Dungeons and Dragons! The series has 21 total books and I am on my third read of the series! I can't get enough!!
Other than that, I have read the LotR and Hobbit books and several Star Wars novels. I really liked The DaVinci Code, and the rest are Poker books like Doyle Brunson's Super System.

Yea Evol, I've read all of Salvatore's books. He's got another series too, the Crimson Mask I think it is called. Other than that, I am a big Anne Rice fan, but those can only be read for so long before you need a break. That and an author named Charlie Huston; he's a fairly new author, but I have read all of his stuff as well.

Salvatore also wrote The Cleric Quintet, a five book miniseries about a tangential character from the original series. I thought it was fascinating, but I let someone borrow it and never got it back.

I forgot all about the DaVinci Code. Never did get to finish it. My brother's girlfriend had it on audio book and I kept falling asleep. lols
I loved Anne Rice when I was in HS. I think the last book of her's that I read was Blood Canticle. Couldn't stand Queen of the Damned though, I actually had to force myself to finish that book. And the few things that I liked about the book they murdered in the movie =/

I highly recommend the 1939 british novel "Descent into Hell" by Charles Williams, it is deeply disturbing and complex on many levels, and a very short read. This book scared me more than Stephen King ever could.

Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" still kinda creeps me out That was written in the 30s as well.
