I don't give a shit what Meta says. I thought it was hilarious and Jennifer Anniston
was sooo fuckin hot as a brunette.
Everybody has an opinion and a butt hole and they both stink .
The movie had moments that were funny, but the main 3 guys and their advice buddy were all such petulant caricatures...
FOAD, FOAD, FOAD, FOAD, FOAD!!!!
Hugo - 3.5/4
Good - Very heartfelt message, cinematography, "feel-good" movie
Bad - Nothing really bad about the movie, it just didn't connect with me enough for a 4/4, though I was kind of annoyed that it wasn't in French, as I always feel a movie being in the language where the story takes place adds to realism, and the whole movie-preservation message, while not annoying, is blatantly in your face throughout the film
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - 3.5/4
Good - Involving yet followable mystery story that doesn't require you to be a genius but doesn't hold your hand through it either, acting, depressing tone that fits the movie
Bad - Very disturbing at points, though this does add to the feel of the movie, some might find the ending depressing, again goes with the feel of the movie, personally I wasn't as big of a fan of the soundtrack as everyone else/wasn't as good as Social Network's soundtrack
The Descendants - 4/4
(This is my pick for Best Picture as of what I've seen)
Good - Acting, story, cinematography, extremely well thought-out emotional story arc for both the main character and alexandra, and for the movie as a whole, comic relief at perfect moments, you really care about the characters, there's just so much genuine emotion, I can't emphasize that enough, dialogue, I could go on
Bad - N/A
Now I only need to see Drive and The Artist, and maybe some other random movies like War Horse, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Ides of March and I should be set for the Oscars and the Golden Globes.
Still my favorite Hitchcock film.
The original got 10/10 from me as a comparison.
It followed the first book of the Millennium trilogy rather well though the end was kinda different. The title cinematics were WTF worthy... didn't really fit with the movie at all. Trent Reznor did a good job with the soundtrack otherwise.

Hell yeah! Thank you for posting this, House. It is exactly what I was hoping for. I enjoyed the books and really liked the Swedish originals, I'm pretty jazzed to see how it differs.
And Trent Reznor's music is just win all over the place.
The Devil Inside.........This piece of crap doesn't even deserve a "0"
Avoid this movie at all cost.

You're welcome. I hope you enjoy it like I did! If not, you can smack me. lol But it was a lot better than I thought it was gonna be. I expected it to be absolutely horrible as American versions of things sometimes are.
The Simpsons Season 14- I love the simpsons and this was an amazing season I own all of them that are out right now and I love every season of them. I would give them a 5/5.
The Devil Inside - This seemed like a better exorcist movie but when I saw it I fell asleep 3 or 4 times at the theater and the ending was a "Last Exorcism" ending which will always be very disappointing and piss the people who saw the movie off haha. I would give this a rent if your into movies that deal with exorcism 2.5/5.
Office Space- I finally got to watch this and I liked it. I love Mike Judge he is awesome and knows how to make things funny. This overall was a pretty funny movie I would give this a 3.5/5.
im only half way through it and I already love this movie
So I watched the Swedish adaption of the novel, and I'm kind of having contradictory feelings. I believe all the scenes were handled and done much better in the Swedish version, but overall, I'd say I liked the American version better. I'm not sure why, but I think the main reason is that Fincher sets up a much darker and appropriate tone for the film in his version than Oplev does in his. So I would have to recommend the American version to someone who hasn't seen either, though I would also suggest seeing both, as they are both very good films.
One thing I found rather interesting between the two is that the American version omitted several pretty important plot points (in my opinion). I assume the Swedish version is closer to the book, but I want to read it anyway because I'm curious to see which is more faithful to the novel, as part of the mystery is solved in two completely different ways between the two films.

That happens with pretty much every american adaptation of an already good film.
Take this other Swedish movie "Let me in" (Let the right one in), for example. There's a few instances where the vampire girl tells the other boy "i'm not a girl". It implies to the viewer that (as we know) the girl is a vampire, when she actually means...
...she's a boy. In the original movie (and more explained in the book) you could find out this statement was gender-related.
But for some reason they left this out and thus eliminating an important fact about her origin.
If anyone is interested in knowing, the major things I noticed between the two versions were (possible spoilers):
the omission of both Mikael and Lisbeth's backstory in the American version, and how the mystery was solved; in the Swedish version if you go back and watch it again they actually say the answer way before the end, but no one realizes it yet, which of course allows the attentive listener to see through the red herring, but still provides mystery for those not expecting it, which I liked a lot. Also the ending was pretty different.
