Crappy party members that follow you around without doing shit. It seems like the last 3 games I have played give you a "Ally" that are pretty much worthless. (Bound by Flame, Drakengard, Dynasty Warriors etc). Is it still so hard to program AI that are somewhat useful? My ally in Drakengard is literally just following me and occasionally playing tag with a fodder soldier or two. They take like 20 minutes to kill one another. Meanwhile I can kill 100's in less then a minute.

Have you played the new drakengard? I've read it was pretty good. And dynasty warriors are fabulous games.

Anyway... Grinding my gears currently...
When my daughter was born I had a sony handicam video recorder thingie that used those little tapes. Over the last 13 1/2 years I've carried this little tape with me wherever I have gone. It's my recordings of my daughter from birth to 7-8 months old, and I don't have any photos or anything else from that period and neither does her dad. So I was looking into picking up a camera to hook it up to the tv and see of the video is still good, because her dad is telling her all this crap about me from back then and a video would be a good way to disprove it... and they're all $200 if they're confirmed working!! OMG!! I figured these old dinosaurs would be cheaper than buying a converter and a VCR but it doesn't look like it. That's wayyy too much to spend on something I'm not sure even works lol. Ughhhhhhhhhh

You just need a deck rental that will play it, if you google any post production / editing facilities in your area, they may let you put it in & output it for $35-50, if you're nice. A cheap post house.

you know what those 3 games have in common?
they are all bad.
1) Bound by Flame - Debatable but it's average to above average IMO.
2) Dynasty Warriors - The Call of Duty of hack and slash. Not bad games at all just lacking in innovation.
3) Drakengard - Oh really? Destructoid 8.5/10, Famitsu 9/10. Besides that It's a cult franchise. Reviews are never going to be relevant to fans. I have enjoyed each of them with the exception of Nier (Of which I found bland). This one is the best entry since the original.
4) You have terrible taste. Or at the very least a bias against Japanese oriented franchises. Whether it's a JRPG or action.
