Speaking of Skyrim, I want to get that for a cool 1st grader for Christmas, but I'm worried about the M rating. I can't for the life of me remember why that game got an M. It's got some "blood" and death animations, but there's no sex & I don't remember anyone swearing. Would love him to play Mass Effect but I won't buy it for him for those reasons. Skyrim however seems perfectly fine, in my opinion.

Pretty sure decapitations, graphic torture, cannibalism, drug use and alcohol attributed to that. The game also "Talks" about rape and genocide etc. just to name a few topics. Try reading the books sometime.
The Lusty Argonian Maid is a good read.
