Turnover is an economic term. You don't get to redefine those at will even if you're Sam Walton himself. So no, it's not.
Walmart has a high turnover rate. It's a crappy job that pays next to nothing and most of the employees qualify for welfare and food stamps. Non management positions are only appropriate for retirees and college students. So no shit the turnover is high. Most stores have high turnover. Most minimum wage jobs do. You get something better and leave- it's not a career.
And there's no severance package for people who quit, so almost every company would prefer their employees quit than have to be laid off.
Yup, you're 100% right because Kat the Almighty knows all. Yup, you're correct.
It's rather insulting that you look down upon people that work there as well. My field took a major hit right after I graduated college so that's my excuse. If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living?
Don't get so defensive. I don't see anything in the statement you quoted as looking down on you, or anyone who works there. The fact is, (and a sad one at that) is that if you are making minimum wage or slightly higher, you most likely qualify for assistance in some fashion. She never said people on welfare are lazy, or that there is something wrong with people who don't make a lot of money. It sounds like you are the one with the problem that you have to work at WalMart and you're trying to be offended by something that isn't there.
So I can't stop you from feeling insulted, but I think you're assuming insults where there are none.
As for her job. She takes care of our kids because I make a shitload of money. She doesn't need to work and I don't want to pay for child care because I don't trust anyone. Any more questions?
