SR3 had two outcomes for chapters 1 and 3. Two endings and tons of DLC. How is that no replayability? For a non multiplayer oriented game or RPG that is well above average.
You should make sure you brush your teeth frequently if you're gonna be letting bullshit like that come out of your mouth......both of those alternative outcomes could be achieved by reverting to a previous save, the 2 endings where both mediocre at best & all of those DLC's could be completed in 30mins to an hour each. There is no fun what so ever to be had in SR3 once tge game is completed. ..the 5th DLC was supposed to be a massive expansion & give the game more replayability but they chose to make it a full retail game & slap SR4 on the cover since THQ was going out of business and need to sell as much as they could.
I love the SR franchise & I really hope SR4 turns out to be good but I won't be hoodwinked like I was with gears of war judgment /rant
Being able to load a earlier save applies to any single player game with multiple outcomes. Your standards for replayability are insanely high if this is a negative aspect. SR4 is being published by Deep Silver not THQ. They went after Volition specifically to continue the SR franchise. I think it will be a solid sequel and not a poor attempt to cash in on nostalgia (Like Gears Judgement). I'm not sure why your calling it a glorified DLC as it's not showing any of the tell-tell signs (Like say Dead Island Riptide).

dead island was like a 15 hour full fledged game, and judgments campaign was solid.
idk think either of you not what dlc vs expansion means, you scrubs.

Solid sequel? LOL I'm calling it "glorified DLC" (Thanks, exactly the words I was looking for) because thqts what it is....what have they shown us in SR4 that's new? You've got saints flow powers now just like the ones in the final DLC in SR3 other than that all I've seen is new cars, new clothes & new weapons and all of those things SCREAM DLC....just because its a new story doesn't mean its a "solid sequel". They're pulling the same stunt that judgement did with GOW 3, that riptide did with dead island (so I've heard) & what COD does every gotdamn year....same game new skin....I thought SR3 was a great game but I won't pay $60 to play it again with new bells & whistles..... $30 game at best IMO for now
I agree with you, because it's Deep Silver and their track record for sequels sucks. Risen 2, Riptide... They're all essentially expanded dlc.
I don't think a 15 hour campaign is worth $60, anyway. That's DLC, imo. That would be like Bethesda releasing Shivering Isles as a stand alone game for $60. "Hey, there are 2 endings!"
Whatevs. I'll get sr4 if redbox has it. I'm sure it will be funny... But Deep Silver has to earn my money, I'm done giving them the botd.

we have all paid 60 dollars at least once for a game shorter then that with less replay value. at least with open world games you can load them up and fuck shit up to feel better.

Definite agree.
Game "value" is very subjective though, and Katlissa is spoiled by RPGs with 40+ hours of gamage
What's interesting to me is how having the superpowers will affect the gameplay experience. Part of the process in doing missions or quests in many open world/sandbox games is locating a vehicle and doing whatever is necessary to obtain it, and then developing an arsenal of effective weapons so you can bring some heat.
If they manage to blend "super" parkour/free-running into this same gameworld that you can actually enter and engage in multiple storied buildings and such, it could be interesting.
At the same time, I can definitely see Big P's point about it essentially being a cash-grab, since it's using the same engine and likely recycling 90% of the assets/resources.

The powers will make it more Prototype-esque.
