except you know 2k Boston was the main developer behind bioshock 1 and infinite. Whereas marin was the lead developer behind bioshock 2.
And it wasn't written or had any affiliation with Ken levine.
so no they were not "relatively created by the same people."
Ken Levine, who is kind of a dbag with one good and the rest shitty ideas... Oh man! It didn't have him?
I'm talking feel. That's all. You guys are taking it totally to a different thought by bringing in developers. Fallout 3 wouldn't be an actual fallout game by those standards, even though it obviously is. 2 was developed as a sequel to the first and written a such regardless of who did it. Of course it "jacked ideas," it was a direct sequel. Considering how great one was, it was never going to be spectacular,
but it did what it set out to do and added some new things (like mp). I don't care if CliffyB designed it. Bioshock 2 is clearly the sequel and better Bioshock game. My point with heavy rain and b2s is that they had nothing to do with each other besides who made them. Which is how I feel about 1 and infinite.
Infinite has nothing to do with Bioshock except for the name and some really reaching plot devices. It's not about Rapture, it's the feel of the game. You're not alone fighting crazies, you're fighting people in an excessively populated area. People who believe you're there to destroy them. Which you are. And do. And it sucks. You are, as it turns out, the worst main character in the history of any game ever. Personality-wise. And that, plus the wtf plot that was totally different from what it was sold as a few years ago, tacked on, poorly planned ending help ruin what was a solid game- but not a Bioshock game.
And snapple, you're confusing "major plot point" with "huge cop out." They didn't want to have to resolve dangling plot issues so they made your choices meaningless. You take someone completely innocent, sheltered and unspoiled and expose her to what happens in the game and whether you play through violently or kindly would make a difference. She would not be the same person, you wouldn't be, and the ending wouldn't be the same. That's just a way to try to tie in Bs to the infinite world.
If this game had said "from the creators of the Original Bioshock comes a new game- Skyoshock," or whatever, it would have been fantastic. The references to rapture would have been small winks to the player. And the game is fun and gorgeous and the voice acting is awesome. It would have stood on its own. But they didn't and they lost a lot of fans they could have had for the game. And the most noteable thing about it, long term, is that is comes off as anti-religion propaganda that deeply offended a lot of people.
*/end rant. I'm not going to keep going back to this, I think my position has been stated. *
