Mirrors Edge isn't that bad I managed to play all the way through it but it's just not entertaining enough for me to go back through for all the collectibles and stuff. Beating the game is more than enough Mirrors Edge for me.
He's already stopped playing it. (shrug)

Man I was really jazzed for XCOM 2 until I read that missions have turn "timers." Why would you do that in a turn-based strategy game??
I could maybe see it being an option when starting on the hardest unlocked difficulty, because there are a lot of masochistic XCOM players.
Guess I'll just pay off Gears 4 and wait for xc2 to get updates and go down in price.

Ok, if you have a copy of Lost Odyssey on disk, you can insert disk 1 of the xbox 360 version (special note to Kat here) into your Xbox 1 and receive the digital free

I just found out you have to have the disk inside the One to play the game. If you can find your old saves you can also upload them to the cloud and the you can pick up where you left off.

There's a demo for upcoming survival horror title Outlast 2 up -- the XB1 version is here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/outlast-2-demo/bqj83qf7nxx4
If you prefer to try it on PC, you can grab it from Steam -- http://store.steampowered.com/app/414700/
If you're interested, jump on it, cause they're taking it down Nov 1st.

Gears 4 is fun so far. I've done a couple hours' worth of Horde, a few co-op matches against bots, and a few Social Versus which is 4's version of Player Match.
My only complaint so far is that they need a better, faster way of organizing bounty cards, especially when you are in pre-match loading/countdown.
Horde Mode 3.0 is good, with even better replayability than 2's and 3's, but it's pretty absurd that they now expect you to go waves 1-50 on Insane on EVERY on-disc map, and at least once with EVERY class. I'm glad I have no interest in the Seriously... achievements.

This was the poll of the day on GameFAQs:
Pretty telling -- of 13,000 people, 12k don't have one and 11k of those (including me) have no plans to get one.
I feel like it is still not the right time for VR. I would prefer the industry focus was on lowering the price of true 4K HDR tv sets and wireless 5.1 and 7.1 sound systems, as I feel like these will continue to provide the best premium gaming experience for the foreseeable future.
Until VR gets some "killer apps" and comes bundled with consoles, most of us just aren't interested.

I started playing Defiance again. It's a simple game after a while so it's mindless and fun.

There's a game for sale called Ugly Americans - has anyone played this game? Any good?

Just a couple question regarding backward compatibility and titles that are available for both systems. I paid the discounted price for GTAV for my One a couple weeks ago. Haven't started it yet but it occurred to me I may have wasted 39.99. I still have my 360 disc from when I played the shit out of it before upgrading last fall. Does having the 360 copy let you download the titles on the One and do all your earned achievements transfer over? Also, do all your in game GTA online purchases transfer over?

Well GTAV isn't backwards compatable as far as I know so you can't just pop in the 360 version on your one and run it. Generally, yes, that's how back compat works but only for specific games. Now, if you have the 360 version and online progress, yes the online data transfers across platforms I'm pretty certain

The way Backwards Compatibility works is, if a 360 retail game is BC, you can put the disc in to your XB1 and it will download the digital BC version. If you had the digital version on 360 or it was an XBLA game, it should show up in your My Games & Apps area under "Ready to Install".
You most likely bought the actual XB1 version of GTA5 though, which actually counts as a separate game for the most part. It will have its own achievements (though they are most likely the same as the 360 version's) and save files.
Rockstar has instructions for transferring your GTAO stuff here: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/202892778-Transferring-Your-Previous-Grand-Theft-Auto-Online-Characters-and-Progression-to-PlayStation-4-Xbox-One-or-PC#TransferToXBoxOne

That's what I was thinking. Thanks.
