Honestly, if they did start banning people on live over this, there's enough cause for people to get a class action suit together and sue. Trading tags and DLing arcade games is basically the same as buying a used game from gamestop. MS doesn't make a dime off of either transaction.
That's all that matters to Micro$oft, making that dime. This is probably just a scare tactic. And I agree with you on the class action law suit. Micro$oft has to know that if they were to really try to enforce that policy and would end up in a lot of settlements.

Once they transfer their tag back trust me you have their licenses you just have to go to their download history and DL it to your xbox then ALL their licenses work on your box. Like I have said I have never done this (thank God) cause it would blow to get banned for something like that.
That only works after you use the license transfer tool on xbox.com then you have their licenses. If you recover their account and download their games with out doing that it does nothing once they recover it back everything you downloaded is either a trial game or a demo.
Yeah I know thats why I said you need to have thier licenses?

Not that I like helping AJ in any way, but it does appear they are cracking down a bit.
My question is "to what extent?" I mean its easy to say you shouldn't share arcade licenses, but I bet they are most likely going after those who go to extremes, like selling a tag on e-bay with X number of arcade titles, then someone re-selling it. Or those who have a friend who lets them use the tag all the time and never buys a title.
I can't see them going after those who have done it for a game or two, it just doesn't seem realistic.

I can't remember if I ever posted this, but they better not fuck me because I use my Canadian tag to make all my purchases on my console, then play them with kroberts11, because Xbox Support TOLD ME to do that!

The thing is, like I said before, they DO say that when you get the family pack, you can all play the games and they're licensed to everyone in the pack, but if that directly contradicts something in their ToS, how can they get away with banning some people and not others?
Does this only apply to games purchased while you have the family pack?? Because from my experience it does not work, or at least two accounts can't play them online at the same time....I've tried...

I saw that, but if you read the comments, there are a lot of theories, lol. Something about people hacking the marketplace to make all games free, something about people making accounts from other countries to get stuff they shouldn't have access to, and stuff about people selling accounts on ebay with arcade games purchased... and one guy even says he got a day ban for MS giving out extra points.
The thing is, like I said before, they DO say that when you get the family pack, you can all play the games and they're licensed to everyone in the pack, but if that directly contradicts something in their ToS, how can they get away with banning some people and not others?
I still say the main problem here is a lack of communication on MS' part. To permaban a gamertag like that and not bother to spell out why is really shitty, and it's leading to a lot of conclusions and freaking out a lot of people that probably have nothing to worry about.
So you mean like what almost everyone here did for PvZ and Ghostbusters?!?!?

On separate xboxes? It should be ok as long as the account that originally purchased the game is on the 2nd box.

Q: If I purchase an Xbox LIVE Arcade game, does it belong to everyone in the family?
A: Purchased content such as games and movies are licensed both to the console it was purchased on, and the individual Gold member that purchased it. So if, for example, your child were to buy an Xbox LIVE Arcade game on your home console, anyone on your console can play it. Additionally, if they leave for college, they could recover their account on another Xbox 360 in their dorm room and be able to play the game when logged into their account from that Xbox 360.

So technically purchases should be made on the secondary console, so that console has the console license and whatever one your main account is on has the gamertag license.
Tried that, couldn't play an online game with myself though. They both could load up the game and play SP, but I would have assumed that would have worked without the family plan....since the license was on the xbox with my secondary account, and my tag was on the other box.
Maybe they only care if you can play SP with them and don't want you doing MP? Or its because the game I tried was purchased before I had the family plan? Dunno.

That's weird. I wonder if they do distinguish between SP and MP. I don't think I have any mp arcade games to check it out... I don't actually think I have any of my arcade licenses on my new xbox anyway, lol, so it wouldn't work for me either way.

Along with 100 other people here. Does it says in the ToS anywhere it's against it to make an account from a different country to get shit? I would think you could do that since it lets you. If they're going to ban you for shit it lets you do that's pretty fucking stupid.
