Thanks for head up and I didn't know what strange coins for.
NP man,he's located right before the crusible vendors,on the left from the courtyard entrance,FYI guys, you will need atleast 13 coins to get anything good.

Not true,I've found them via engrams and rare prize/awards after a few normal strikes on viper,they are just recall,really rare to get that way,plus the strikes on hard and up take sooo much ammo and time its almost not worth it.
Just advanced to vanguard rank 2 a min ago, spent the better half of yesterday and today grinding rep,all outside the crusable mind you,here's a little info about the small things you can do to gain rep fast if you don't want to do strikes or play pvp:
Collecting 50 of any resource on each planet like the spin metal plants on earth will net you 25rep,5 vanguard marks & 250 glimmer each time you turn them in to the merchant beside the shipwright, ntb for a short collecting side job while knocking off patrol missions.
IMO,between patrols which net you between 10-25 rep per mission (which if you fly through them they take a few mins a piece,not including the scan mission which take up to 5 mins) and collecting resources you can net upwards of a grand in like an hour or two.
Again these are just non PvP and strike mission ways to earn rep.
EDIT,I can confirm that the strange coins do appear as end strike mission rewards here and there on any difficulty,just got one last night on the easy setting and another player got one too.
