Strike mission rewards,raid rewards and public events,they are pretty rare so you may need to grind for a while.

Found a great place to farm today. Go to earth patrol and then up through the overwatch untill you get to the next clearing. It's the one with the rusted out coppers and tons of enemys. Go to the left towards where the downed spaceship Hive is. There will be a slanted rock there and you stand there an can shoot straight into one of the spawn caves. All kinds of stuff dropping like crazy. I was also told that it will be patched soon so get right on it peeps.

getting a legendary engram and then decoding it and it being a rare item is the worst ever.

I was doing that for hr got 3 Legendary but it wrong class though.

Finally reached level 21 and now halfway to level 22. Is it better to farm for lucky drops or just continue to pursue crucible and or vanguard or other marks to procure the legendary armor with level 18 light?
Do the motes of light and strange coins count for currency for anyone other than the guy who shows up on weekends? Is it advantageous to join any of the other factions such as Dead Orbit? Is there a certain level or strike that you have experienced a higher ratio of legendary drops?

Motes of light can be turned into the Speaker and strange coins can be turned into Xur on the weekends.
I haven't found a good method yet of getting legendary equipment. All I have found were some decent methods to get random items.

From the game's pause menu, tab over to the Settings menu and choose to switch profiles. You can then simply log back in and the game will do a check for any achievements that are complete, and unlock any that did not pop when they should have.

Farming can be frustrating since the drops are extremely rare,the only way to get legendary gear without guessing is to grind your vanguard rank to three with either the default faction or another and earn marks to buy the gear,it sucks grinding for a few days to break level three but you unlock the purchase ability AND the message vendor sends you a legendary weapon (I got a sniper rifle when I hit vanguard rank 3),also worth mentioning,collecting a TON of engrams and decoding them via the guy at the tower will upgrade his level,after each level up you get a package/message with some rare/legendary engrams so keep collecting engrams,the post I made a few days ago about the spot on the moon where you can farm has a good drop rate (been patched up) is a good spot to get engrams due to the number of enemy's that show up.
The motes & coins can both be use at the xur vendor on Fridays and Saturdays, the notes can be used to buy a cloth/band/cloak from the speaker,pretty epic looking stuff.

Grinding strikes this morning got me 2 pieces of legendary gear. Now I only need legendary boots and my armor is complete.

I'm finding the grind to get all legendaries/exotics incredibly boring. anyone else having this issue? I don't want to have to level up to vanguard level 2 and crucible level 2 just to be able to use my marks.

Its a really tiering grind but getting access and a legendary weapon free when you hit rank 3 are totally worth it,apparently it goes beyond rank 3 since I'm still gaining rep, I would guess at around 20 hours to grind both levels.
Thinking of getting the expansion pass next month,anyone have it that knows what's going on? Kinda want to know if its worth the 30$ if I'm not playing much mp/PvP,thanks.
