thanks man,i didn't know what i did wrong, do you know how the gold key glitch works?
I have no idea how to do the gold key glitch & I really don't want to know. That chest hasn't really given out anything that makes it worth it to me anyways. It's probably faster and better to kill Timmy the terrible (terramorphous), that dude drops alot of really good shit!

My two cents is this: I agree that overall Gearbox has jumped the shark a bit and gone money hungry with their overall business model. I agree that B-lands2 is only a slight improvement over 1.
I also agree that Pitchford twittering codes for keys is just some icing for the cake--either enjoy the cake or don't. I started to try to go through B-lands 1 alone and I found it incredibly boring. With friends, it becomes a MUCH more fun game.
Gearbox could have done a lot of things better--give you optional AI teammates that would amp up the game's difficulty and loot as in MP for one--but instead they chose to set up this model where they have the initial game release and pre-order incentives and are selling a "season pass" for some planned "story" DLC I hope isn't also already on the disc.
They have also specifically mentioned that there has been a lot of "community interest" around the mechromancer character that will be "added" with the first round of DLC/pre-order incentive release--their response was that they are looking in to adding more characters/classes but these would not be included as Season Pass DLC content later. This means they are wanting to setup an additional revenue stream?? Weird.

I enjoy Borderlands 2 with or without friends. When I played with my friends I actually found it really easy. Sometimes I wanted to play alone just for the challenge.
The only thing better about this game compared to the first is the story and characters that make up the story. I LOVE JACK. He is hilarious. Without him and this decent story it would feel just like the first to me. Does it make it ALOT better than the first? No not really, just a little.
Now, I actually passed on getting the DLC "pass" just because I really want to know 1) how good it is first and 2) If its already on the disc. I remember buying the Bioshock 2 DLC just to learn its already on the disc and was planned. If they want to add DLC to the experience thats fine and dandy but my thoughts are if it's on the disc that you already bought and own....then you should not pay for it.

I enjoyed the hell out of the Zed stuff, Claptrap's Revolution was a hoot, and Knoxx's Armory becme incredibly grindy but was still fun as I had the luxury of having 2 roommates and the game system-linked.
Moxxi's Underdome was freaking bad, it seemed lazy, and completing it legitimately with our characters all capped out and junk was an exercise in futility and frustration.
If their "season pass" DLC stuff is on par with the Zed & Claptrap then I wouldn't mind paying a little more money to have more of the nonsense that has been going on here at night.
It's fun re-spec'ing our characters around different build ideas, like right now my Gunzerker is a big meatshied tank and I use infusion grenades to heal myself and others, the Commando roommate has his turret built up to mega kill mode, it's like having a 4th person, and the Siren roommate is spec'd for all damage and crowd control.
We also had a weird glitch a few nights ago where my roommate could keep opening the gold chest over and over, so we were level 24 at the time rolling around in all purple gear, twas quite a hoot. I'm still using most of that stuff at 31.
Talking about like a game's "value" is a weird thing--genres match up differently and such, and it's obvious that Blands2 is aimed squarely at the multiplayer crowd. I don't know if I could necessarily fault Gearbox for that? I mean a single player would get maybe 10 hours of good gaming from Gears 3 yet with a few regular co-ops or decent Live you can get 100's, and you take something like Skyrim and it's JUST single player yet it can go the same way: 10 hours of "core" questing or 100's if you go all through the disc.
OMFG this post turned in to a novel. Whoops.
I mean BLANDS2 IS FUN WHEEEE GUNS.

Definite agree on both points there. There is nothing in Blands2 that would change the mind of someone who disliked or was even on the fence about the first game.
And setting Blands2 (i admit it, this portmanteau is too perfect ahaha) at roughly $30 worth of gaming sounds about right to me. I was lucky enough that the roommates bought me a copy when I couldn't get one myself, but I would have tried to get the money anyway. The extra $30 is for the novelty and the "nao!!" factor... even though I have actually managed to partially rebuild a backlog of games om nom nom.
Also, I haven't played the Siren but she seems like the worst possible option for a single player experience in this game....

I chose the Siren to play through the story. She has her good moments but the phaselock ability is rather shit, until you hit level 40+. Until you get the right perks in the skill tree she is very underpowered. Although, now that I'm level 44 the phaselock actually saves my ass quite often on my second playthrough simply because it pulls other enemies towards the origonal target which sets them up for an immediate grenade blast.

started a siren a couple days ago and it's cool but if your a player that loves to shoot/kill everything then your going to get frustrated QUICK, i had a little trouble adjusting but overall the siren class is good you just need to remember that your not the one that is suppose to be doing all the killing.
zeros class is probably the most frustrating for me so far, i don't like the snipe or hide a seek stuff,a lot of people may like and do very well with him but i just can't handle his tactics.
haven't tried gunzerker yet & i think i may give the mecromancer class a shot when it drops even though everyone and their bro is going to be her as well.

Right? I started my siren as support, so skills straight up the middle. Doesn't work as well when soloing.
And meta your roommates are cool.

My buddy is killing that giant boss over and over again if anyone wants to join, it only take him like 20 seconds each time.

Kat: What is in 2 that should have been in 1?
Honestly curious on your opinion here. Every sequel I've ever played I've thought...oh man I wish they had that in the first one, it would have been so much better. But isn't that the point? Developers make the first one and learn from it? Then make additions that, in retrospect, would have been awesome in the first? Or do you believe they deliberately left stuff out of the first that "should have" been in it. My belief is that it's a matter of learning and then putting things in the sequel that "would have been nice to have" in the first, but it took feedback from the first game to figure it out.
Just looking for your opinion/clarification on this one part...not all the other stuff you've stated that you don't like (DLC, etc).

So if you don't like it why did you play it? Nobody has to say anything to defend this game, it sells great, has got great reviews and most people enjoy playing it. If I don't like a game I just don't play it, like COD, I won't buy that crap but I also don't go around bashing it because its not worth my time it sucks that hard.

Seriously, everyone needs to chill about this.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion of a game. You don't have to agree. Someone stating a problem with a game (in their opinion) is not bashing a game. Stating an opinion (good or bad) about a game is allowed in a thread discussing said game.
So tl;dr if anyone doesn't like someone else's opinion, leave the thread. This doesn't need to get personal.

@ Kat, you make mention of other peoples defense as guns and fun. My defense of the game is simply guns, fun and most importantly...... Wait for it......Moxxi's killer cleavage!
