They did change it. The first game was just a regular camera. This one takes video while you fight splicers or hack security cams/bot and gives you damage bonuses and gene tonics. Use your weapon wheel to choose the weapon you want to use then use it to select the camera. Once you start rolling footage you automatically bring back out the previous weapon. There's two chievos for researching. One for maxing out one track and the other is for maxing out them all. On hard the damage bonuses really help.

Yeah I guess there's actually four different endings.
1. Harvest 'em all
2. Harvest most of 'em
3. Save 'em all
4. Save most of 'em
I'll be able to confirm at least three. I harvested them all my first run-thru. I'm saving most of 'em in my current run-thru on hard and almost done with it. I'm gonna go a third time to get the No Vita-Chamber, Gather 600 Adam and the Savior chievos and do it on easy. I'm hoping I can finish the Full Research chievo in my current run-thru but I might be cutting it close with the Big Sisters.

Finished my second run-thru tonight, on hard. Was able to finish the research chievo with the final two Big Sisters and found 100 audio diaries and all the upgrade stations. I only harvested three Little Sisters so the ending was a little different than the first time I finished it.

Here's a little tip to make your Hard run-thru a little easier: skip gathering Adam with the Little Sisters. Unless your trying to get the 600 Adam on your Hard run-thru just Harvest them on the spot or adopt them and take them to the nearest vent to rescue them. I did this and it made it much easier to save ammo and health for the Big Sisters and my Hard run-thru went a lot easier than my first on Medium. 
On another note, have you all seen where they're adding some dlc soon? I guess there'll be some multiplayer dlc as well as some story mode dlc at some point. I also read that they're gonna raise the level cap to 50 for the multiplayer. Hmmm.

No word on chievos for the dlc yet but I bet there will be some. The dlc won't affect the level 40 chievo.

i can't remember where it is exactly, but it's in one of your menus.
anyway, about the camera, i didn't care for it.
it seems cooler at first, but in the first one all you had to do was take a bunch of pictures. in bioshock 2 you have to film them, and your score depends on how you fight them. i'm not a fan of this one bit. if i know how to efficiently take down certain enemies with certain weapons and plasmids, why should i be forced to use other combinations?
much more of a chore this time around, in my opinion.
