Much like the constant dragon attacks on Skyrim. After the 100th battle it gets old. Still executed great mechanically much improved from III.
Still the best pirate game ever!

What sucks about that is....when you're taking out a convoy or group of ships inside a restricted zone...then a hunter just shows up shooting at you....so you have like 6 or 7 ships firing on you at once....Not fun

I hate all the shooting in Call of Duty & Battlefield
I haven't played it yet, but I would imagine the problem is a lack of variety in the boat types? If every vessel had a different look, & arsenal- & from what I hear, boarding a ship is the same animation over and over again-- if there were more random variables it probably wouldn't seem tedious. They still had to program it with last-gen tech in mind, so I'm sure these are things that next-gen computing can account for.

Aye...boarding is pretty much the same animation, just with different ship sizes and having to kill more people to "capture" the ship which can be then sent to kenway's fleet (minigame that takes place of recruits I think), repair the ship, or lower your wanted level (how that makes sense is beyond me), think the ship types are gunboat (can't board), schooners, brigs, frigates and man o'wars (can be boarded)

Woo finally snagged a copy of this from redbox. If it's half as good as you folks are saying, I'll probably return it after 2 days and wait to buy it like I did Skyrim.

It's more combat oriented then previous games. It's hard for me to play the old ones now as Edward is a complete beast in comparison.

that's like playing mass effect 3, then going back to 1 and complaining that it isn't as fluid, no shit guy they build and refine combat as a series progresses.

That's not a good comparison at all. Mass Effect is a combat oriented game from 1-3. Assassins Creed has always been a stealth franchise and is just now becoming action based. The entire approach to the game is different now, that's all I was pointing out.

aside from the original, none of the others were stealth based at all.

Your smoking crack again. You need to replay the Ezio trilogy.

Yeah I gotta say this game delivers the goods. It's one of those that starts good and gets better as you go. Sailing and privateering are way more fun than I thought they'd be, and Edward's story & attitude might be my favourite yet.
+edit+ is the Uplay Passport supposed to be free?? I rented this copy of the game but it let me download a passport for free and now I can do the extra stuff like fleet things...

Yeah that's a new Uplay policy for AC IV. If you lost your code or rented it you had to buy a new code in the old ones.
