:p Not what I meant... she did used to look kinda mannish... her face is still mannish... or horsey... but she's trying harder. I just don't know if she's a gamer, or a PR person if you know what I mean. I mean most of them, you can tell. Olivia Munn, Leighla Keighley, That Kristen Holt or whatever her name is from cheat... they aren't gamers, and it's obvious even if they don't admit it (Olivia Munn does, and I like her best out of the G4 women for that... lol- she could join my lesbian pirate ninja treehouse club!)

Anyway IDC really, but I think it would be better for them to have ACTUAL woman gamers for some of there stuff... not the airheads with 3000 gamer score from rock band 1&2 and the guitar heros- I mean SERIOUS female gamers- 50k gamer score and up. that would be fun to watch.

olivia munn....:D.....if i could be a squirrel on a branch in that treehouse.

I would have said... Fallout 3... Dead Space... Hell, even gears 2 before Fable 2!!!

uh yeah. fallout 3 is the obvious answer.
dead space = excellence. 2nd contender at least.

i still don't have gears 2, but even gears 1 beats fable 2.
this is really bothering me. i enjoyed fable 2, but when i really stop and look back, it's a lame game. it was fable ALL over again, only worse. same missions, same world, same everything. the graphics were slightly better, it had (horrible) co-op, and it had a dog. other than that, it wasn't a breath of fresh air like fable 1 was. there was nothing to look forward to.

i might be pretty harsh on games, but i can't find a single reason why fable 2 could possibly be anyone's game of the year.

Fable 2 turned out to be trash, im sorry but it did. No way in hell it deserved GOTY. I do have one question though, how come X-Play gave Fallout 3 RPG of the year over Fable 2 but somehow Fable 2 won GOTY over Fallout?

Fallout 3 def deserved the nod, but if I had a vote it would have been for Gears 2, becuase I actually love that game but most don't, oH well.

To me it was, when I consider my GOTY I don't go by graphics or innovation or originality or wether or not the game has a dog... My GOTY is the game I had the most fun playing in 2008, which would be Gears of War 2.

Because Fable 2 was a more accessable game overall. People of all ages are able to play Fable 2. It is not the best overall RPG, but GOTY has got to be a game that can be played by all types of gamers. Fable 2 can be played, and was played, by every style of gamer. Not just RPG fans.

I guess I can no longer classify myself as an RPG fan. I haven't seen a good one since Oblivion. (was THAT even an RPG?)

I'm sorry, but I can NOT get into Fallout 3 at all, even though I was absolutely addicted to Oblivion. And for everyone that claims that Fable 2 is a rehash of Fable 1, and then polishes Cliffy B's sack over Gears 2, I don't see a big enough difference between the first and second Gears to warrant GOTY.

I'm not saying that Fable 2 should be everyone's choice for GOTY, but I do think that it deserves some credit. It's the first game that I have personnally played since Mass Effect that I traded sleep for, and that when I got off of work, I COULD NOT WAIT to play this game. In my book, flaws and short story and all, I agree with this choice. (To be fair though, I haven't played any other console exclusives, i.e. MGS4)

To each his own I guess, Fable 2 was unacceptably short, boring, and tedious. It may just be that Fable 2 is not my type of game but there is no way it is GOTY. I played the game for 12 hours I think, beat the game, took the money, terrorized the Market for 30 min to become "Pure Evil", bought the castle/mansion along with every property in the game, started trying to find the gargoyles then realized I could be playing a game thats actually fun and stopped.

Like I said to each his own, but shouldn't Game of the Year have some replay value? Even if you are willing to suffer through getting those grind acheivements in Fable 2 after you beat the main story, you cannot honestly tell me after that you still wanted to play it.

I CAN honestly tell you that I want to play it again. I will play it on the other accounts on my console.

The thing about X-play making a game of the year, is that I'm sure that replay value is not really high on their list as they have to play SO many games. I'm sure that in their short term hands on experience with the game, it seems that it has tons of replay value when in fact it doesn't.

I'm not trying to be an asshole, and this is not meant as an insult, but how old are you? I am guessing about 16. If I'm wrong, then I apologize. It's just that I am an old school gamer. I remember playing great games that were solved in an afternoon. These games had NO replay value whatsoever, but we beat them over and over and we had a blast!

Replay value is nice, don't get me wrong, but if a game can pack a great experience into a short amount of time, I will take that any day!

To each their own, and once again I wasn't insulting you or anything, and I hope you don't take it that way.

No insult taken. I am 22 years old and have been playing games since my dad bought an atari when I was 4, and have had EVERY system since, including the Sega 32X (I think I was one of the 5 people that had one lol).

But yea replay may not be a big consideration for most people but it is for me, replay value and fun factor are my two biggest things.

Games in the old days were simpler and I was younger so yea the games that could be played in a day were still fun to me and I would play them over and over again, but that doesnt mean that times have changed since then and replay value ahould be a big factor in games nowadays.
