because it was an hour long and clearly didn't have enough time for it. links have been posted for articles that were clearly written before the press conference, just had to release them until after the reveal.
Yeah, within like two minutes after the actual event ended, they addressed the "always on" controversy. That was pretty much my primary concern and it was answered afterwards.
I think a lot of the controversial aspects (backwards compatibility, used games, etc) weren't included in the event because time constraints obviously, but also its going to be difficult to please everyone.
I suspect the GameStop employees in the audience would have let out collective sighs of cat gasps mixed with hissing. I think the general idea is to use the event to focus on the features that the majority of folks would perceive as desirable.
But I still think Kinect blows.
Yeah, I think they focused on the positive only because that other stuff really would have taken away from all the oooos and ahhhs.
Funniest post I've seen pointed out how the reveal was geared towards casual gamers and entertainment addicts, but the only people who watched were hardcore gamers who didn't care about most of it.

They are going to lose money in the long run this way, whats gonna happen is people are going to buy used games, and then with the fees it will cost what a new one costs anyway lol I bet ya they try this for a while and then realize they made a mistake. Its also going to drive down video game sales for retailers as well, I mean like 75 percent of Gamestops business deals with trading and reselling games

What are you talking about? If anything this is making M$ more money, people will have no choice but to purchase the game directly through Microsoft or new from a retailer, if they want to buy it at Gamestop they still have to purchase the Activation Fee from Microsoft. Microsoft makes no money from Gamestop. They are simply cutting out the middleman being Gamestop or any retailer that sells used games. Essentially no matter what, you are paying full price.
Oh and some Interesting Development

The people who buy a ton of used games like myself, wont buy as many games, only the really good ones, you have to remember that a huge part of the gaming communitty are just casual gamers who will not purchase nearly as many games now probably, most people on this site are more than casual so yes we will still buy the new games and such but Im thinking as a whole, I dunno maybe your right but I honestly dont think they will make up the difference by having used game fees n such but who knows

Ok, you are a person who likes to buy used games, Microsoft makes no money off of used games, Microsoft doesn't lose money losing the Gamers who buy used games. Setting up a digital fee for people who will actually pay makes them more money even if it fails to attract a huge audience. Pretty much, if one person buys a activation code they're making more money off of them than they have on used game sales.
More Unattractive News or attractive, whatever way you want to look at it. This console is going the wrong way.

So you can't play old live arcade games? What are they going to do with the powerhouse games like Minecraft? Lose half their sale base based on that news?!?

Does anyone know if Xbox 360 and Xbox One achievements are same? For example on Battlefield 4 I'm going to be able to get achievements twice on Battlefield 4?
