I like the idea of the X-ray thing if nothing more then for novelty. It may wear off after a while but the have to keep it interesting for people. I liked the old MK titles too but the Animalities and Babalities were a little on the lame side.

im sorry chris but i find the complaint rather stupid and pointless. but, ill explain why
if you are really THAT offended by this thing that happens in the game, dont play it. there was no reason to comment if you were so offended by it. if anything, youd ignore the game and things about it because that offended you so much.
you make the point about immature kids playing the game. thats not the mortal kombat creators fault. they shouldnt have to take out something in their game, which btw is KNOWN for being excessively gory/violent, because it might "desensitize" some stupid little kid. thats the parents fault, no exceptions. the parent should know what their kid can and can not handle. if they want their kid to play the game and see this "x ray attack" happen, and become desensitized, thats not the game makers fault. its the parents fault for being a fucking idiot and not watching what their kid does and teaching them right from wrong.
also, im w/ mikachu. you complain because you might see, idk, someones ribs being snapped and a lung punctured or something, but yet i can rip his heart out, or tear his cranium/spinal cord out of his body, and THATS ok? honestly i would be more offended by seeing a guy get his spinal cord ripped out. personally im not offended by either but if i was, that would offend me more.
besides all this, violent video games will always be around. its the inevitable. grand theft auto, god of war, gears of war, etc etc...hell, even skate 2 (and maybe 3 idk) had a bit of gore (or well, something similar to this) when you bailed theyd tell you what bones you had broken, and even give you challenging for fucking yourself up in special ways! you cant honestly complain about something like this and hope to get something done about it. or really hope to have any sort of impact. especially when its a game like this. mortal kombats fame and legacy came partially from being so fun and gory!
please, answer this honestly: what do you hope to try and accomplish by complaining about this? anything? if you arent trying to accomplish anything, whats the point of complaining?

I'm not offended nor am I complaining, I'm expressing a concern. For years games have progressively gotten more & more violent. I'm not saying that it'll make little Johnnie go crazy and rip off someone's head but at the same time these type of games are played by kids and it's not appropriate. Neither am I saying that the creaters can't express their artistic talents. I play Mortal Kombat and have been for years, but back when I was a child things were different, people had a different mindset. These days it seems the more violent, the more blood & gore, the more money is made. Whether it's games, movies or whatever.
This is my opinion which I am expressing, not complaining..get it straight. I wanted to get other opinions to see what people think..hence the ? in the topic title..I'm guessing ur probly around 6 years old by ur responce..please tell mommy to tuck u in and give u a bottle and let the grown ups have a discussion O.K. jr

I don't think the X-ray attack really even looks that bad, especially coming from a Mortal Kombat title, I mean what do you expect them to do to freshen up the series? Have flowers coming out of wounds instead of blood and rabbits prancing around on corpses or something? I say just leave it alone, one person on a message board is never going to get anything censored, it's 2011, violence and sex is the norm in society anymore, and personally I love both

1. LIKE I SAID BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont like it, dont play it.
2. Again, like I said before, Its the PARENTS FAULT. Not the game itself.
3. Well its not that time period anymore, its 2011 and we are super advanced. Get used to it, cuz we aint going back.
4. DONT LIKE IT, DONT PLAY IT. DONT WANT YOUR KIDS TO SEE IT? DONT LET THEM SEE IT. Plain and fucking simple.
Chris, you're the one who is a kid with a response like that. Telling Taco he is 6yrs old and his mom should tuck him in? Come on bro... He gave his opinion and it obviously destroyed you. If you knew better, you would do better.

That responce triggered my responce. AGAIN, it's not a complaint, what part of that do you now NOT understand? I didn't say anything about not letting kid's play or anything like that, I'm seeing a trend that's progressing and wanted to know what other people thought, If someone makes a comment, they don't want it to be called stupid or pointless, if someone asks a question, they should be able to do so freely without someone attacking them..And as far as the parent's fault..no parent can be with their child 24 hours a day, kid's have freinds, they go to school, parents work and so forth..I've been online playing games with kids that sneak online while their parents sleep. I agree parents shouldn't let their kids play these sort of games..but that wasn't the point of my post..READ IT AND TRY AND UNDERSTAND WHAT I"M ASKING. You two are turning this into something that it wasn't meant to be..so once again, now to YOU..LET The grownups have a discussion. If u can't respond in a positive way don't respond at all...SIMPLE AS THAT:>

You fail so much....
You did trigger an argument. When you called him a 6yr old just because you were butt hurt.
You are complaining (which is okay). But your saying games are too violent nowadays. Which is kinda a complaint if you didn't know. You're QUESTION has been answered over and over. I said it wasnt that bad, and few others said it wasnt that bad.
And you are not a grownup. You are acting like a total child. I am giving good, legit responses. And all you can say is "let the grownups have a discussion". Chris, you are clearly the most childish person posting in this thread. YOU are the one who cant respond in a positive way, because you get mad at other peoples opinion on the matter and say shit like "let mommy tuck you in" and "let the grownups have a discussion" (when you're clearly the only one acting like a child here)
Lol Come on bro... quit playing your playing yourself. Like I said before, if you knew better... you would do better.

Just to clarify, I'd play this new MK, I was just saying how the games seem to push the envelope on certain things too far...this is an OPINION, not a complaint..this Thread was made to see how other people thought on this subject, not intended to piss people off so they can leave negative and childish responces..hence the references to "telling mom to tuck u in" & "U must be 6 years old." I didn't offend anyone when I started this post but was attacked because, I guess, some didn't really READ and UNDERSTAND what I wrote. They took it as an attack or something. Calm down..if this post bothers U, leave and go to another one..I've been playing video games since PONG and have seen the transformation and evolution. Going from 2 colors to 16 million plus, from diskettes and cartridges to cd, then dvd and now Blu-ray. I love the industry and have been a part of it damn near my entire life. Respect a person's posts and opinions, if u respond in a "attack" type manner, then expect the same. U reap what u sew.
Now, I'm done with that..please can we have a productful discussion?

Look at what I said in my first post: "I can see where you are going.... but I watched one of these trailers, and saw the X-Ray attack and it wasnt that bad compared to all the other stuff thats out there. I respect your opinion on this. Im not trying to offend you, but In my opinion I think you are being a bit soft and missing a bigger picture "
I did everything you wanted. You never were attacked until you attacked first ya dingbat. Nobody said anything bad to you. But you replied anyway with "you must be a 6 year old" "get mommy to tuck you in". Which is beyond childish.
But whatever, Im done with you and the matter after this post. You clearly dont understand.

I really dont want to get involved in this thread but I would like to help somone out and clerify that saying games are too violent can be a complaint, but was more then likely an opinion not a complaint. So until we learn the difference I think we should re-read what you post before you post it. This is not directed at anyone inparticular.

Thats all up to your discretion. If Taco (or anyone else) said that to me, It wouldnt bother me. But that just me, so whatev.
On topic: The X-ray attack is nowhere close to being as brutal as some of the other stuff that is out there. And is definitely not to be considered as going to far if you ask me. It is a shame that these beautiful/masterfully done, brutally violent, and sex filled games get in the hands of immature kids. But thats not because of the Game Devs, its the parents.

The -NO RUSSIAN- level on Call of Duty trumps anything Mortal Kombat will ever do.
There is no difference in the level of violence of X-RAY attacks and any of the other fatalities, past/ present/ future.
This thread is in the wrong forums if you want people to sympathize with you.
Even the anti-violence video game Website gamepolitics.com says the games are not to blame, the parents are.
