The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Guns N Roses, Nirvana, Led Zepplin, Kiss are all overrated
I agree with this. I actually enjoy Nirvana's music and have most of their albums, but I find them incredibly overrated. Jimi Hendrix was a great guitar player and I respect his skill but again, the music itself is overrated.
Also, I don't like Whataburger.
Also, the God of War games were terrific & fun in my opinion. Besides the awesome themes of deicide and sex, they also had good pacing, interesting enemies, and great visuals for their day. I am referring to 1-3 and the first PSP one, haven't played the others.
Lastly, Daniel, they have In-and-Out here in Houston. I've been meaning to try them and Five Guys. And Smash Burger.

How are the Beatles overrated? One would think "Best selling band in history" warrants the hype. Personally I prefer "The Doors" but it's hard to argue with the logistics.

Selling a bunch of music doesn't mean anything except that they made themselves and their label owners rich.
I am fine with people calling the Beatles rich or good businessmen, but I don't enjoy their music at all. I find it incredibly simple and trite. This is, of course, just my opinion, and also an unpopular one, hence my posting it here.
My issue is just that people talk about how revolutionary and great their music was, which I find absolutely incorrect--it was their sense of branding and haircuts that appealed to teenage girls that were revolutionary and great.
I feel like the only originality to really come from the Beatles was Lennon's stuff and from what little I know, that came when he wasn't really with the band anymore either.
Also, Elvis sucks too!

Elvis just ripped off Chuck Berry.

I'm not Meta, but I'll field this one...
Overrated would mean they aren't actually good enough to deserve the sales and accolades they have received.
I'm not a Beatles fan AT ALL. I don't get why people like them so much. So them being the the best selling band in history supports my beliefs that they are overrated.
Awwww- Meta beat me and was far better at explaining it than I was. I'm a sad panda.

Not good enough to deserve being the highest grossing band ever? How can you judge that if not by how many people bought their albums and went to their concerts? (Individual taste only goes so far) They obviously were good enough at something to achieve such lofty heights. Being the most popular band in history might make you over hyped but overrated is a stretch. I don't "love" them but I get why they blew up. Right sound, right look, right time in history. They deserved it overrated or not.

I think the term overrated sucks. It's completely arbitrary and is just hyperbole for saying you dislike something.
Nirvana sucks, but I like them.
The Beatles didn't have the talent to stand up to their popularity. They were the '60's version of New Kids on the Block or One Direction.
Jimi Hendrix simply did things that no one else was doing or could do. His band mates, are underrated. His vocals are terrible.
I'm not sure how GnR is mentioned in the same statement as the rest of these bands, although I really do have a newfound appreciation for Slash's talent.
Led Zeppelin is incredible for their time because nobody sounded like them. If you think they're overrated, you have only heard the handful of songs that are played on the radio.
I hate Kiss. I'll never understand their popularity.
