I've never played a R* game that I'd give more than an 8 to. I thoroughly enjoyed LA Noire and was thoroughly disappointed at the same time, just like RDR. Then the end made me want to break the disk, just like RDR.

I felt like RDR was very high quality, fun and surprisingly interesting. For the first time, I actually enjoyed Rockstar's "acclaimed storytelling." To me it was their first real high-quality product. Yeah GTA3 was revolutionary for its time but IMO still not a great game, vice city and san andreas felt too grindy, 4 was boring, I haven't even touched LA Noire yet because it seems like a boringer Mafia 2.
I agree with Kat's sentiment about 8's--I feel like RDR is maybe Rockstar's pinnacle so far and I'd give it a solid 8. Everything else from them goes down from there. Again, all IMO.
I know some people thought Vice City and San Andreas were the bee's knees.

I agree with Kat, RDR while not perfect is Rockstar's best game to date. I recommend you continue to stay away from LA Noire. It makes Mafia 2 look like Saints Row 3 in terms of fun.
While most will go with San Andreas as the best GTA...I feel Vice City is the only one with a worthwhile story.

LA Noire has like 12 perfect scores on metacritic. Most notably Gamepro.

Mass Effect & Mass Effect 3 were possibly the most boring games I ever played. The multiplayer in 3 was fun for about the first hour other than that the whole series is a snoozefest. (full disclosure I never played 2 and never will). I honestly had more fun playing My Horse and Me 2. At least there weren't 5 minute loading screens in that P.o.S.

I could never play 1, too boring and too many choices. So I skipped the rest. :3
