Thoughts on marijuana?

Note: If it's illegal to discuss drugs on here, I'm sorry. I just simply wanted opinions.

With all the recent legalizations of "medicinial marjiuana" in places like California..I just wanted people's opinions.

Do you feel that marijuana should be legalized in the United States? Why or why not?

personally, i dont care either way. i mean it has its goods, it has its bads. so...idk. i dont do it tho

I used to partake in the effects of THC, but that was 11 years ago.

That said, I honestly think that our country SHOULD legalize it, AND control the growth/sale of it. This country would be out of debt in a heartbeat.

Have the same laws as with Alcohol, 21 to buy/possess. Tax the holy hell out of it. Punishments for driving under the influence, etc.

Other countries have it legalized and it is not the horrible drug crazed horror that people here try to make legalization out to be.

Sure, the first few years would probably be that way, but after a while it would be just another thing.

This is all my opinion btw.

Who cares, its sold now the only thing that would be different is people wouldnt hide that they smoke it. We have bigger issue like people starving ...

The only thing that would be bad if people made it legal is that shit wouldn't get done. People would just be high and not a lot of things would be very productive.

People already get high and shit gets done. The difference is tax money wouldn't be spent prosecuting these people and throwing them in jail.

I don't think I have ever met a person that didn't smoke weed because it was illegal, nor have I even heard of that.

With few exceptions, the people I talk to about marijuana have pretty clear opinions about it and what their stance is. While some like it and others don't want to have anything to do with it, almost everyone agrees that it should be legalized.

Does every person who turns 21 suddenly start getting shit-faced on cheap booze every hour of every day until plowing their car into a phone pole? Nope. Most people already know whether they want to drink often, rarely or not at all long before they can do it legally. The same goes for cannabis.

Exactly. And if the Govt controlled it as I stated, then you wouldn't have to worry about it being laced with all kinds of other drugs, therefore less medical expenses by our taxes. Also, less drug traffic to the US, for weed anyways, as it will be available in stores, no need for it to be smuggled.

Tax the hell out of it to lower/erase our debt, and then we(the Govt) would have money to help the homeless and hungry.

People will do it either way, legal or illegal. May as well have the country make money of of it....
