This is why I prefer to avoid arguing with Melissa whenever possible, because it starts out okay then she beats the shit out of you verbally. I'm done posting here, because as long as she's around nothing I say will be taken seriously. She knows all there is to know, any questions on this topic should be directed to her. Melissa, once again, you're right and I'm wrong.

Have you ever smoked it, Melissa?
Nope. I've never had AIDS either, but I know the consequences.
Quote by The Snapple Cap:
drinking has more harmful side effects and has caused more deaths then weed. you rarely see someone high killing someone in a car accident, but it happens all the time when drinking and driving. Yet one is illegal and one is legal. The reasons why weed was originally made illegal is ridiculous, and "reefer madness" has continued by alcohol and tobacco companies to maximize their own profits. Legalization would bring much needed revenue to the country instead of quite simply drug dealers.
I don't understand the "higher than something" attitude, I'm pretty open minded and a person's choices are their own, unless it is detrimental to another person, in which case it must obviously be rectified.
I don't see why it shouldn't be legalized, besides the view that someone doesn't like it, but that's personal choice and you don't have to smoke it instantly once it is legal, we can cut out the sending marijuana smokers and actual criminals to jail. well IMO.

PLEASE tell me you're not referring to me. Because if one more person talks to me like I said I'm against legalization, because they haven't read my posts, I'm going to seriously kill someone.
what no my argument wasn't directed at anyone, I was just merely stating my opinion. that's why i put the IMo at the end of my post lol

It really is not as bad as your making it sound.
sure, it might not be bad, short term...it might make you feel nice, calm down you and your stomach, make everything amazing, etc etc....but it can be bad in the long term...

Chronic marijuana smokers are prey to chest colds, bronchitis, emphysema, and bronchial asthma. Persistent use will damage lungs and airways and raise the risk of cancer. There is just as much exposure to cancer-causing chemicals from smoking one marijuana joint as smoking five tobacco cigarettes. And there is evidence that marijuana may limit the ability of the immune system to fight infection and disease.
well first off, id like for you to read the whole thing, then tell me theres nothing fucking bad about weed in the long-term. short-term, sure, its fine! MAYBE even occasionally, you might be fine. the worst ones are the people who smoke it chronically or persistently (like every week or every day or every other day, stuff like that. really close to each other) now look at the bolded part. one joint of weed, has as much cancer-causing materials, as FIVE CIGARETTES!! FIVE! so lets say you smoke...idk, just one joint a day. everyday too. thats like smoking 5 cigarettes a day. if you smoke more joints, that means 5 more cigarettes for every joint. now idk how many joints you can make out of a bowl or a bong, so ill use a random guess. lets go w/ 4, just to make it easy (weed smokers please correct me if im wrong) that means smoking that is about 20 cigarettes. if im right, thats MORE then a pack of cigs everyday, which is also not very healthy. now, i might not be right about that. it could be a different number. it could be 2, 3, 5, 10, idk. but thats like 10, 15, 25, or 50 cigarettes. and you say theres nothing wrong? short term, sure. long term, hell no.
now, i have no problem w/ pot heads. i have friends who smoke weed atleast once or twice a week, maybe more. theyre cool people. if they make it legal, fine, whatever. tax the shit out of it and make money off that, help our debt lower. it really wont bother me if its legal or not. but i can not STAND you stupid fucking pot heads who say is has nothing bad about it! youre obviously an ignorant fucktard who is just asshurt because we're dissing on your stupid drug. seriously? learn your shit before you open your mouth.
also, incase anyone hasnt noticed, me and melissa kinda team up in arguments xD im not sure if thats just a coincidence or if one of us likes to help defend the other or something, but when you start an argument w/ one of us the other is usually soon to follow. and were smart enough to actually know and learn some shit before sayin stuff. its like melissa said. if those of you who smoke weed dont like everyone callin them stupid and stuff, STOP PROVING US RIGHT. its not THAT hard. google is your friend. use him.

There is a lot of very good opinions on this topic..... Some very biased and some not. I want to start by discussing some things i have read in this thread. Starting with the link that was posted with "BAD EFFECTS" of pot. Lack of attention??? Loss of ability to retain information??? No Focus??? Wrong. Or at least completely biased and a general census based on a few lab tests. I spent a lot of time in high school blazed as hell not knowing what was going on but i payed attention and got my work done with exceptional if not exceeding scores. When I wasn't high i was bored and couldn't pay attention and didn't want to be in class. I dropped out of school due to use of other drugs and stupid choices, not related to pot because I stopped smoking it when I started using actual drugs. I turned my life around graduated high school and am now enrolling in college. And I smoke pit all day, matter of fact im tore up right now. So, now that there are biased opinions from people who have seen the top layer of what happens to people on drugs, and we have opinions from teenagers who love getting high, (at least they dont do it to be cool), and from people who have never smoked it but don't mind it at all, I want to tell you how I feel.
Marijuana is decriminalized for medical use if not legal in a few states now and the number continues to grow. I live in AZ and we vote for decriminalization in November. Last time it was on a ballot it passed. 92% of people who voted in AZ voted yes to the decriminalization of medicinal use marijuana. Federal law stepped in and said no, which they can no longer do. Pot has so many medicinal uses ranging from glaucoma to back pain. Anorexia to arthritis. Lack of sleep to easing cancer patients pain. If i had cancer and I was going to die anyways I would much rather smoke pot that grows out of the ground then take Oxycontin that people overdose from everyday. On that note I can drive around smoking pot all day and be perfectly fine ( and i smoke some good shit ), yet thousands of people die every year from driving on alcohol (AND ITS LEGAL!?!?!!?!?!). Also someone made a comment about a chemistry major that smokes pot. I know a very successful college professor that can out smoke me ten fold. But pot makes you incapable to retain knowledge??? OK!!!!!!! I am going to college for an associates in business administration which i will take as transfer to get my bachelors in culinary from the art institute in Tucson, AZ which currently is more accredited then Scottsdale Culinary Institute which for those of you that don't know is Le Cordon Blue. I intend to open my own restaurant from there and be set. I have every intention to smoke a lot of pot the whole time. But people cant be successful if they smoke pot.
And for anyone who calls pot a drug, it grows from the ground. You dont have to do any "processing" to it from there. Dry it and smoke it..... Drugs are synthesized in a lab with chemicals. Cigarettes are 10x worse then pot and are pack full of chemicals but they are legal and not considered a drug. People die every year from smoking cigarettes. You know how many people die from smoking pot?? NONE!!!!!! Not a single one. You would have to smoke well over your own weight in pot to even have cardiac problems and would pass out long before you were near capable of dying. Trust me lol. Ive said what i have to say about it.

WRONG!!! There is five times more tar(resin) in a joint. Resin which doesn't stick to your airways like the tar and chemicals contained in a cigarette. Marijuana doesn't contain any non natural chemicals... Nicotine, rat poison, and arsenic are not natural...

I'd like to start off by saying Taco, you are an idiot. I don't know where you get your information from, but that is complete and utter bullshit. There's a movie you might be interested in called Super High Me. Comedian Doug Benson smokes pot for thirty days, all day every day. Beforehand, he takes some tests to check his lung capacity. His doctor tells him that in seventeen years of smoking he has not caused any permanent damage that he can see. So your information is about as credible as something that isn't very credible at all. Nothing personal. Bedlam, thank you very much.

im sorry, nothing bad? right off the bat it says it can cause schizophrenia and depression. well shit, that sounds fantastic! -.- seriously?
oddly enough, after reading some of that...if smoking it can cause schizophrenia, why does it say some people encourage smoking marijuana (well, i guess technically i should call it "Cannabis" but whatever) to treat it? wth? wouldnt that just make it worse?
also grenade, youre also an idiot. you SERIOUSLY just told me "i dont know where you get your info from" I JUST GAVE YOU THE FUCKING LINK YOU TOOL. thats where its all from -.- good shit child (relative term, i know im prolly younger then you, ive just been calling everyone child lately, idk why)
