I have yet to read the book(s) but watching YouTubes of the first game, I really like Triss.
She is a well-written character with good dialogue. In the Witcher 2, I loved the way she so quickly analyzed the folks Geralt was working with.

yeah, she could hold her own for the most part. refreshing to not have a character just rely on you completely.

And in response to the original thread topic, open-world is literally the only thing I could think of to improve upon Witcher 2.
And they did it. w00t w00t

Definitely. Too few RPG's have been announced.

so quests you do later on you see how/are told what happened because of it and how things changed. that's pretty cool.

Allegedly the game world will be much bigger then Skyrim. I'm eager to see if it's as interesting to explore as well.

I heard there are supposed to be no loading screens. Have they confirmed this yet?

Can't always trust Wikipedia. No loading screens would be a huge plus for me.

if they did loading screens like skyrim or fallout wouldn't be that big a deal either honestly. just when u enter buildings or caves w/e but the whole main world could theoretically be traveled without a loading screen.

It's like no one reads a thing I write.

According to Game Informer, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt stretches from stormy islands to war-torn forests and a sprawling dark fantasy metropolis without a loading screen anywhere to be found." No loading screens? That's hard to believe. But now, CD Projekt Red have themselves announced the Witcher 3- and unlike the previous 2 installments, this game will be an open world game that is 30 times bigger than the world of The Witcher 2. In fact, they claim it will be even bigger than Skyrim (around 30% bigger!) and should take the better part of an hour to travel across the world on horseback (which most likely you will have to do many times, given the lack of a fast travel system in The Witcher 2). The game will also not be divided between chapters or acts, so they're aiming in a much more Western RPG direction with it.

Since they told GI for the story, I take that as confirmation.
