Quote by KillerBea3991:
I signed, i dont mind some regulation in the sale of games but only to the point of retailers actually getting punished for letting an employ sell rated M games to minors or knowing that a child would be the main user. I kinda wish ESRB was more enforced but this is ludacris.
This in the quote is exactly the way it is now.

I'm not signing this. It's propaganda and says nothing about what the ruling actually was. I'm inclined to believe that this petition does absolutely nothing and it actually looks like they put a generic controller as some kind of ploy to get signatures from gamers that aren't actually going to research anything.
I hope you guys do research before you sign petitions. If you want your voice heard, be sure you're saying something intelligent.

I would rather add some changes to the law, like minors cant be near an xbox that has an M rated game on. OR THEY DIE! no seriously kids are annoying when they get on games and should GTFO.
PS: That petition is fucking bullshit. HEY LETS GO PROTECT SOME LITTLE KIDS. Hell no, im tired of little kids in my game GTFO for good.

I didn't sign it because despite what the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals have found every time before, this new inquisition by California's political elite has exposed a very troubling truth of our society: we have a ton of unregulated media out there!!
I fully find it in the best interest of everyone for the government to spend tax-payer money to create new programs, and committees to run them, that can figure out what kind of media is not protected speech and instead a corrupting agent. This authority could then be used to rope in the smut of the amoral entertainment industry under vague terms like "violent" and keep it behind locked doors.
I think there are many people out there more capable of making a decision than I am, and I definitely think that a person should be punished for letting 13 year olds play Halo!
Hail authority!
Here's some real information on the case and proceedings if you guys are interested. I have noticed so far that everywhere I heard about this case from was a media source/outlet for video games and other vested interests so I tried to find some cut-and-dry facts.

I'm sorry but I'm not supporting a bill trying to be passed by an actor who's only decent movies involved violence or him acting like a robot. Yuh those stickers have stopped minors from listening to mature music or watching R rated movies.
Let them make the whole front cover a warning label, and watch 65% of these worried parents buy the game for their kids, completely laughable, get off your soap box.

the only thing i liked about reading that article, was the fact that it pointed out arnold has no idea what the hell hes even talking about and is a huge hypocrite, and that there are irresponsible parents out there. everything else was just blah blah blah and other stupid stuff. now i really dont have any problems w/ arnold, hes never made a decision that affected me negatively. but i just find it lulzy anytime someone of authority/power or just famous gets shown to be a hypocrite and have no idea what theyre talkin about xD
now about the parents. are there irresponsible parents out there? duh, of course there is. should they be punished for being a bad parent? well, maybe, but not necessarily. they should just be educated on the fact about these said M rated games so that way they arent just like 'oh im guying this game for my kid so theyll stfu and get out of my way!' or 'oh, my friend says this is the new cool thing, so ill buy it for them! i dont want a lame kid!' or some other stupid crap like this. if they want to buy their kid an M rated game, the thought process should be more like 'oh, ok. so this game is rated m, because of some violence, language, and maybe partial nudity. BUT, i feel my child is mature enough to be able to handle this and not do anything stupid' or something along those lines. the parent should feel their child is mature enough to handle M rated games, and know the difference between real life and video games. if they dont do that, their kid just might end up on the news for shooting his friend because 'i thought that my friend would respawn!'
also, i pretty much agree w/ everything melissa said...just cause ive known her longer then you and i trust/regard her opinion a lot higher then anyone elses around here...
