I signed, i dont mind some regulation in the sale of games but only to the point of retailers actually getting punished for letting an employ sell rated M games to minors or knowing that a child would be the main user. I kinda wish ESRB was more enforced but this is ludacris.
This in the quote is exactly the way it is now.

I like how you cut out the part of my post you couldn't find a reasonable response for. You're just bitter that Lebron is skipping town....ohhhhhh *hides*

You're absolutely right it's prolly more around 64%, my fear is that if we allow one bill to be passed what would stop them from passing more intrusive bills further dictating what we purchase. Plus I can honestly say I've rarely seen a child being able to purchase a mature rated game anyway especially nowadays. My point is the children are still going to play the games, either through other friends who's parents aren't as outraged at their children playing violent games or the parents themselves are going to purchase them. You keep talking about PORN and ADULTS but how easy is it for a child to view pornography? Way easier than him being able to purchase a violent game, there are steps that can be taken to prevent it without passing a completely foolish law.

Go play any online shooter or MMO that is rated for 17/18+ and tell me how many minors or on there. I am sure it is not as much as people would think, but it is too much. Not only that, most of these children are obviously not ready for this kind of media with their shouting and vulgarities. Now, this is not saying that those that are of the eligible age do not do this as well, but I honestly believe that is a different subject. I believe at the age before maturity, you are more susceptible to harsh imagery. The issue is that a lot of the minors do not know that these images are affecting what they are, children. It is horrible to see anyone, much less children, on these games spouting profanities and relaying to myself and other very specific ways they are going to kill, rape, or torture those in these lobbies.
Yes, there are obvious steps that could be taken to prevent these occurrences. They have been beating the same horse for over 10 years now. Maybe now it is officially time bring about strong repercussions for not following these steps.
Unattributed Quote:
Regardless of how a parent feels about their kid playing a M game, it's not the same as playing an AO game. That's like saying that a parent who lets their kid watch an R movie will take them out and buy them porn, and playboy magazines. 17+ and 18+ are very different categories in all media. I'm speaking as a parent who DOES let her minor child play certain M rated games. While I let him play L4D once in a while, and Crackdown and Halo 3 more frequently, I'm not going to go out and buy him porn. Likewise I'm not going to buy him a game labeled even more severely than M.
Sure, there are parents who won't care (not 65%) but that's their right as parents. The point of the law is making it harder to get these kinds of games into kids' hands, completely preventing it is impossible.

I would love to elaborate on what you said above, but unfortunately it would just be a redundancy of what you have stated so well.

Seriously? Why would you whine about this being bumped?
Nothing wrong with bumping this thread to express one's opinion.
You don't have to sign the petition if you don't agree. I didn't.

Oh my... what a surprise that this is going to pass. /sarcasm
This ill advised petition was destined for failure.
49,000 people is about 1/10 of a percent of the state of California's population. I think we can let this die.
