yes and no,because of what ive gone through in my life with a parent drinking themself to death, having to work 2 jobs since sophomore year because of before mentioned parent then burying the parent, having a very close friend commit suicide 10 feet from me while trying to get them to put down the gun, being a Emancipated Minor at 16 for numerous legal reasons i would say no its not to young to be engaged because i know what i want out of my life and im working towards it with her but because of my age at the time everyone thought we we're nuts.
age is just a number after all and to me,your only as old as you feel and think and i feel and think like a 30 year old man lol

What you've gone through doesn't change whether you should attach yourself permanently to the first person you seriously date. Marriages take 2 people and are life long commitments. You think what you went through the first 16 years was rough... You're looking at at least triple that number in the future... It's a long time! And you didn't get to be a kid... that was taken from you. One day you may regret that and decide you want to actually enjoy life.
Losing parents doesn't make you mature- tragedy doesn't make you mature. Who you are inside makes you mature, and life makes you mature. And what you want at 16 isn't what you'll want at 32, or 42 or 52.
But no one could tell me that when I was 17 and got engaged. And I didn't listen at 19 when I got married. It's just something I learned, and you'll learn as well. We're myopic in our teens and early 20s. Life is huge, and long and we're never as grown up as we think we are.
For the record, having a kid at 20 is nothing like being on 16 and pregnant...
